There are kids in this world who are different special, they look like us, and they act like us, but they are not us and one of them is missing.
...
"Hey, Doctor Smith, it's me Holiday coming to you live from the roof again, it's early morning before the first day of school, another thing I don't ever remover doing. I guess I've been waiting for thesis day since forever kind of dreading it too. So there's that, at our last therapy session I told you that I would tell how my birthday went and last night was, to be honest I don't actually know what last night was. It's like the world has gone crazy, have you ever had that feeling where you don't know who you can trust anymore? I mean-" Said Holiday just getting cut off by Mum.

"Holiday, breakfast!" Yelled Mum.

"Oh, gotta go doc public school awaits." Said Holiday switching off the recorder and putting it down.

...

"Daddy, I don't like this pancake it looks like a snail." Whined Clara.

"Big dad today!" Smiled Mum.

"Yup! Big day." Said Holiday smiling.

"What happened to my backpack?" Asked Ryan.

"Dad, I said-" Started Clara only to be cut off by Mum.

"Sweetie, it just like every other pancake shape doesn't change taste I promise you that." Said Mum.

"Still no backpack." Said Ryan getting irritated.

"Are you ok Holiday? You look tired, you must be so nervous." Said Mum looking worried. "Maybe it's too soon maybe you should stay home."

"No! I want to go!" Protested Holiday.

"Seriously! Where's my bag?" Asked Ryan glaring.

"On the hook, on the back of the door, Ryan where it should be- Holiday, I know you want to go to school with the other kids, I'm just worried." Said Mum.

"So was I a good student? Before the accident, I mean." Said Holiday.

"Of course you were-I should of gotten you up earlier, don't want to be late on our first day." Said Dad.

"Well that's exactly what we're going to be." Said Ryan grumpily.

"But I didn't get my pancake!" Whined Clara.

"Here, Clara." Said Dad shoving a pancake in Clara's hand.

"James, you're just going to shove a pancake in the girl's hand before we leave?" Asked Mum. "Here, Clara dip it in maple syrup before you go. We're not savages."

"Mum do you not want me to go to school?" Asked Holiday curiously.

"No, no of course we do. We're just over protective that's all." Sighed Mum. Especially since the accident. We love you Holiday."

"I-I love you too, it's a big world out there, lots of questions to be answered." Said Holiday as the bus stopped by their house.

"Questions?" Asked Dad furrowing his eyes brows.

"The bus is here we have to go." Yelled Ryan.

"Come on Holiday!" Said Clara.

"Hurry up, Holiday!" Shouted Ryan. "The bus river waits like twenty seconds and then takes off."

"We can't miss it on our first day." Added Clara.

"Wait I left something in the house." Said Holiday opening the door back to the house and going inside.

"What is it?" Asked Ryan getting really impatient.

"Just- just hold the bus!" Yelled Holiday.

Holiday ran inside and went up into her room where she left her hoverboard. "Can't believe I nearly left my hoverboard, Badger said trust know one." Said Holiday. "Can't leave it lying around for Mum or Dad." She whispered.

As she started walking down stairs she heard Mums voice.

"Who knows what will happen now that Holidays in school, can we trust Ryan and Clara to keep quiet?" Said Mum.

"What was the alternative, Annie?" Asked Dad. "Keep her at home forever?"

"Of course not but you know what will happen if anyone find the truth about Holiday!" Said Mum.

"Badger was right!" Holiday whispered.

"Right now I'm more worried about her learning the truth. You heard the wish she made on her birthday cake." Said Dad.

"Well, you handle your part and I'll handle mine. She can never know. Ever!" Said Mum.

"Never know what? What are they hiding?" Asked Holiday.
