Virgil P.O.V
Virgil froze. Sit with them?! After that incident yesterday?!
He could hardly process the idea. He went to reject the offer, but then he saw Patton's face. The boy's face shone brightly with hope, his blue eyes shining in a way that created a puppy dog eyes effect which Virgil knew he wouldn't be able to say no to. I can't believe I'm gonna say yes...
He forced a smile unto his face in an attempt to mask his uneasiness before finally replying, "sure, Patton," then, without waiting for the other's response, quickly turned back around and headed up the nearest flight of stairs towards his next class.
He did feel a bit guilty for leaving without saying goodbye and as suddenly as he did, but in that moment he just couldn't stand to be there anymore. (Tw start) So many thoughts were going through his head and there were still a lot of other students in the hallway still that he didn't even realise there was a small group of boys following him until he was abruptly yanked by his arm. He was pulled into what he later recognised as the bathroom and violently shoved into the wall. He let out a sharp gasp upon impact, his back sliding down the tiled wall and landed roughly on his rear. Before he could even try to scramble to his feet, he was once again grabbed, this time by the shirt, and pulled upward. He was finally able to get a good look at the boys who had grabbed him, one of their faces merely inches away from his. There were three boys in total. The shortest of the boys had short, tidy, blonde hair that was so light it was practically white with the coldest hazel eyes he had ever witnessed. He was a skinny boy, almost as skinny as Virgil but not quite. He appeared mostly uninterested, but Virgil would be lying if he said he didn't notice the sour look that adorned the others boy's features when he laid eyes on him. The tallest of them had medium length, dirt brown hair that was pulled back into a low ponytail. This boy was much more built than any of the others, and it was obvious that he played at least one sport by looking at his dark muscled arms. There were less signs of distaste and more of absolute hatred that burned in this boy's copper eyes. But no anger could compare to the last boy's, the one that was currently holding his shirt bunched up in his hand. His face was practically contorted with rage, a familiar look that made Virgil want to cry. This boy's hair was a bit longer than the first boy's hair, but his hair was jet black with the ends dyed a light blue. He wasn't as skinny as the first kid, but he sure was close. The blonde looked him over before saying, "are you sure this is the one? I don't recognise him, sure, but why would they stoop low enough to talk to this trash?"
"I'm sure of it," the boy holding Virgil growled, "I was there at lunch when they went up to him. It was quite a scene."
Wait... Virgil realised, are they talking about Roman, Logan, and Patton? Why did they drag me here?
The largest of the boys came forward, grabbing Virgil's hair roughly. "Listen you little pipsqueak," he snarled, "you stay away from Roman, Logan, and Patton. I don't know how things worked at your old school, but here people like you aren't popular enough to hang out with people like them. So stop wasting their time. Or else."
Although he knew it wasn't a good idea to talk back in these situations, Virgil couldn't help but look into the boy's eyes and ask, in the most confident voice he could muster, "or what?"
The words had hardly left his mouth when Virgil felt a sudden harsh blow to his stomach, causing him to instinctively double over but was prevented to do so because of the iron grip the tall boy still had on his hair. "Or else we'll have to teach you a lesson." (Tw end)
All of a sudden, the first bell rang. The shortest of the boys swore and howled, "great! Now we're late for class! Finish this up!"
The other boys turned back to look at him and scoffed, then turned back to Virgil. The tall boy grabbed him by the jaw and harshly pulled him forward, his fingers squishing the sides of the emo boy's face. "Just stay away from them, got it?"
And with that, the boy pushed him away, got up, and left the bathroom with the other boys. Virgil was alone. He just sat there for a moment more, grasping loosely at his stomach and catching his breath, before forcing himself off the cold tiled floor. Just got back and I've already missed the bus and I'm late for a class. Just great... He thought bitterly as he slugged his bag over his shoulder and rushed to find his next class.
