Chap 4

Jessica POV

Someone ringing the doorbell, stopping me from reading my book. I looked at the clock and it was almost 1 in the middle of the night. I frowned while walking towards the main door and then opened it. Seolhyun stood in front of me while leaning against the wall.

"Hello." She smiled and waved her hand.

"Hello." I smiled back and waved my hand at her, "What are you doing? Isn't it late already?" I asked and bit my lower lips.

"Yeah." she nodded her head, "But I have something to say and I'm here to talk to you."

"Oh me?" I asked her curious while blinking my eyes at the taller girl in front of me.

'Why would she want to meet me?' I asked myself as I stared at her.

"Yes. Can I come in, Jessica?" she asked me and I nodded my head at her.

I forgot to let her into the house so I moved to the side after hearing her asking for permission and allowed her to get inside the house. She walked towards the living room while looking around, glancing here and there.

"Your house is huge." She said while looking at our pictures.

"Yeah, Taeyeon bought it." I smiled while remembering the time when she bought the house just because she loved it and we were just so happy back then.

"So should we get to the point why I am here in the first place?" she asked me and sat down.

I shook my head to clear my head and I sat down in front of her.

"Sure." I nodded my head and smiled, waiting for her to start.

"As you see. Taeyeon told you that I'm her friend." She paused while staring at her nails, "Honestly, I'm not her friend."

"I know." I nodded my head.

"I'm her girlfriend. We went shopping earlier and we spotted you so we approached you." she explained to me and I just nodded my head.

My heart broken to pieces after hearing her confession and I couldn't talk at all. Although I already know deep inside, but hearing all of this still broke my heart and I clearly didn't expect her girlfriend to come into the house and told me about their relationship.

"Sorry to tell you this but..." she paused again and sighed, "Taeyeon doesn't have the gut to tell you about it. She only complained to me and I finally had enough. I just couldn't take it anymore." She explained and once again, I didn't say any single thing.

I only looked down while hearing her explanation but I tried to understand her point. I had to hold my breath every time she said something because I know that I might break down and cry any moment.

"Let me guess, she rarely come home right?" she asked me before she answered her own question, "It's because she slept at my place."

"She went out to the club right?" she asked me but I couldn't answer because I don't know where she is, "I bet she would get drunk. Check on her ring finger if she still wear your wedding ring."

I didn't say anything and I let her continue with her explanation. This time, I couldn't feel my heart any longer. My heart feels cold and I was in shock state. I couldn't say any single thing and I can barely even feel my own body. My head felt so light and I felt like flying. I can't say anything but I can hear her explanation perfectly, the explanation that kept tearing my heart apart.

"She told me that she really hope that you grow tired of her and ask for a divorce." She paused and stared at me, "She doesn't love you anymore and she isn't happy being with you. She always said that if someone sells a time machine then she would buy it so she could turn back time and change the direction to never meet you at all."

I chewed my lower lips as tears started rolling down my cheek. My heart broken to pieces and I couldn't hold it back any longer. I felt a sting inside my heart and it was so hurtful. Every words were so hurtful. I knew from the time when our relationship turned upside down that this day would come.

The day when Taeyeon or even someone else told me about the truth. The painful truth. The day where I have to let her go and accept the reality because she won't ever come back to me and finally gave up .

I put my hand on my face as I continued crying. Seolhyun moved from her seat and sat down beside me. She pulled me into a hug and caressed my back.

"I'm sorry Jessica." she apologized while caressing my back, "You deserve to know the truth."

I nodded my head because I couldn't say anything. Seolhyun continued to caress my back until she decided to stop.

"It's late. I have to get going too." She said while getting up from the sofa.

"Once again I'm sorry." Said Seolhyun apologetically; "You don't want her to live like this for the rest of her life, right?" With that being said, she left the house.

I sighed loudly while looking at my surrounding, it was so empty and quiet. I turned all the lights off then went back to my room. I slid myself inside the blanket before trying to sleep.

After fifteen minutes trying to sleep, I opened my eyes because I couldn't sleep at all. I remembered the conversation with Seolhyun earlier and my brain just couldn't stop thinking about it. Unknowingly tears rolled down my cheek, leaving traces on my pillow.
