At lunchtime George was the first to show up in the Great Hall, he decided to get a table for everyone and saved Rosie a place next to him. He was thinking about what Fred said earlier in the morning and couldn't help but stress about how Rosie would react if he ever told him how he felt. She always seemed to have sweet attentions towards him, but he kept thinking she was just very friendly. He always tried to make her smile or help her study because she was very anxious, especially this year with all the new exams coming through. Her dark brown hair smelled like a fresh breeze on a summer morning, her brown eyes were like 2 sparkling diamonds, and her voice was like a song to his ear. He was deeply in love, and couldn't help himself. Rosie arrived next, and George waved at her. She sat next to him and smiled :
"- How were your classes this morning? George kindly asked.
- Not too bad, I had divination with Mae in my second class but her mind was elsewhere she even fell asleep for a moment, I guess what happened yesterday was really exhausting for her.
- Yeah, I guess.
- How were your classes? Rosie questioned with a sweet smile on her face.
- As usual, said George, I had to shut up because you know I always talk during classes when I get a bit bored."
They both chuckled and George kept looking straight into Rosie's eyes and lost himself for a second. He could feel his face turning red and quickly looked away with a sort of sadness in his eyes.
"- Are you okay George? Rosie interrogated.
- Yes I was just, drifted away for a sec. I guess I'm just losing my mind sometimes.
- No you're not, you're just in your world.
- I suppose so, replied George, by the way, thanks for the flower! He claimed. It was very sweet of you, you know I like flowers. They always make me think of you, he murmured.
- I... I'm glad you liked it, she promptly answered. And, flowers make you think of me ?"
George was petrified he thought she didn't hear it and in a rush he said:
- No... I mean... Yes, I... They're just as beautiful and sweet as you, and... You always smell good, like a flower!
- Thank you... I... That's very sweet of you George, she said as her pinky cheeks turned red.
- And, you just as fragile as a flower... No that's not what I meant... I .."
Rosie seemed confused.
"- What I meant to say, continued George trying to calm himself, is that you are as precious and fragile as a flower in a good way, I feel like I have to protect you and keep you safe and help you grow to be more beautiful... He stopped for a second, not knowing what to say. But you already are quite beautiful! He almost screamed.
- Thank you, George, I don't know what to say, Rosie avowed with a sweet grin.
- You don't have to say anything, he smiled, I wasn't waiting for anything back. I just wanted to tell you this. He shyly replied."
Rosie wasn't the kind of person to receive compliments or attention every day, in fact, she was the kind of invisible nerd people tend to make fun of. She was always known as the Hufflepuff know-it-all. She was the smartest of her house and had actually won a couple of cups and medals for her cleverness. Many people thought that she ought to be a Ravenclaw. But her cleverness didn't equal her loyalty. Rosie was loyal to her house her family and her friends. You'd never thought someone could be as loyal as she was. Especially towards George. Every time he looked at her she felt so overwhelmed and wanted to fly into his arms. Despite their very close friendship they rarely hugged each other. It was such an innocent friendship because they were both insanely in love, but too shy to tell one another.
