Chapter 21: What are we?

*Tris Pov*

"Hey what are you doing here?" I ask standing up walking over to him. He wraps his arms around my waist and I wrap them around his neck. I am about to pull away I know he has a girlfriend and I don't need to overstep their boundaries. 

But he keeps me there and pushes me against the pole of the swing set, well that escalated quickly. 

"I grew up here." He says 

"So you came to visit your family" I say and I kiss his cheek. He sets me down and he walks me to the slide. We climb the steps and we sit down on the top step. 

"Look Tris I have to tell you something...I really don't have any family, Well I do but my father was abusive, he used to beat me for no reason after my mother left us. He used to beat her too, He used to do horrible things to me, lock me in a closet, dangle me by my throat over the balcony. When I came home from school I had to make sure that the house was clean and dinner was ready all while having my homework done and having good grades. The worst beatings was when he was drunk. He used his hands instead of the belt. Istill have scars on my back. I really don't know why my mother left I just came home one day and boom she's gone. But that is why I went to portland to get away from him, and if you are wondering my real name is Tobias but I perfer Four from other people. I don't need people questioning me about my real name." He says

"So why did you come back today, I am asumming that you didn't come back to see him" I say

"No! I have friends here that I left behind. So I came back to visit them" He says 

"Where are you staying?" I ask

"At my old home, Marcus, my dad is out of town, he is all the way in Europe so I am just staying in my old room and leaving thursday." He says. 

"What are you doing here?" I ask smiling. 

"I used to play here and I was just taking a walk" He says "You?"

"My parents, they want me to come live with them, they want my to leave you guys because they are worried about me and I told them about the break in. But I told them no and I got angry and left. I went on a walk when I stumbled upon this old thing" I smile and rub the rusted slide. 

'You know Tris I really like you" He says and I smile, this is like a teenager love.

"I really like you too but you have a girl friend and how am I suppoused to know that you like me judging by the way you treated me" I smile standing up and he pulls me in his lap. 

"Look Tris let me tell you something, I really did like you, from the start, Nita is no one to me,-" I cut him off.

"Side Chick?"

"No!" He says "I keep trying to break up with her but she keeps trying to get with me, I don't like her anymore Tris, I only treated you like that because I was being a boy, I didn't know how to talk to you or get your attention so I did what any boy would do, Be a butt and look where that got me. But Tris I truely, honestly like you-" I cut him off with my lips. Our kiss is fast, rough, but still filled with passion and love. 

I pull away and hug him. 

"I like you too" 

Thunder booms across the sky and rain pours down us but we don't move. 

I laugh and open mouth kiss him again. 

"Were always kissing in some type of water" He laughs and I nod. 

"So, Tobias what are we?" I ask smiling 

"What ever you want us to be."
