Stranger's POV

I know Jose.actually I met him through his father.I was his best friend at one point.

Jose:who tf are you?

???:my name is John.I was your dads best friend at one point.

Lina:uncle johnny?!

John:hey baby girl

Lina:omg its been so long!

John:yea

Lina:what happened to you?why did you stop coming around

John:I'll tell you later,when the kids aren't around

Lina:okay but how do you know what happened to my dad?

John:because I was around.me and your dad talked all the time even though he didn't want to talk to me at times because of the things I did.Jose I'm gonna tell you what happened.

Flashback

Phone rings

John:hello

Jesus:john I need some help

John:what you need?

Jesus:I lost my job today and I don't have any type of money to my name.

John:doesn't joseline work?

Jesus:yea but I don't wanna depend on my 17 year old daughter for money.can I please get a few grand until I get back on myt feet.please this is the last time.

John:I'm sorry but I can't give you anything anymore. You're too dependent on me.you need to make a way on your own.

Jesus:okay just a few hundred then...please I need it badly

John:go to bed jesus I'll talk to you later.

Flashback ended.

John:The next morning,I came by and no one was home.I saw a note on the counter and of course I read it.it basically said that he was leaving y'all.don't look for him or anything.its also said he took a few dollars out of your stash and with that he started drugs.I saw him about a year later and he wanted to see you guys. But I told him to wait.because he needed to get clean.a few weeks later he killed himself. He left a note for you both.

I handed them each their letter.

John:don't read them until you guys get home.

Lina:how did you know where to find us?

John:I saw you and august were the new cutest couple around these parts so I did my research and here we are.

Jose: so you basically stalked us?

John:no I stalked joseline.I didn't know whether you were in a foster home or with other family

Lina:we have no other family

John:you guys still have your grama even though she lives in Miami and speaking of grama.I was trying to get in contact with her before I left but she never returned my phone calls

Lina:she has moved on.

Jose:she went home...can we go home now?

Lina:umm yes go to the car,take your niece.I'll be out there in a minute.

John:are you okay?

Lina:I'll be fine.uncle johnny how long you in town for?

John:actually I'm gonna leave next week.I gotta get back home to the wife.

Lina:somebody finally married you.

John: oh shut up

Lina:well since you're leaving in a few days,let me get your number and we should get together before you leave.

We exchanged numbers and she left.

Joseline's POV

I got in the car and Jose looked upset.

Lina:are you okay?

Jose:I'm cool just take me home

Lina:okay are you buckled up Mani?

Armani:yes mommy

The drive home seemed short.I guess because I was speeding most of the way.I was so anxious to get home and read the letter.

When we got there jose jumped out thew car,before I could even put the brakes on.

Lina:go ahead in the house baby girl.I'll be in there shortly

Mani:okay

When she shut the door,I started shuffling for the note in my purse.here it is.

It read
