A few minutes had passed, a thick (Damn she thick- I'm sorry don't cancel me-), awkward tension was starting to fill the room.
Sapnap didn't exactly buy the story but decided he was going to go along with it. If he didn't he would miss an opportunity to up his flirting skills. George was the perfect 'test' subject for it, him being reactive and very, very cute.
"Uh huh. That explains something at least." He shrugged the feeling of George lying to him off. George almost sighed with relief that Sapnap believed him, but he had caught himself. He didn't want to be suspected again after he had just convinced Sapnap otherwise. "Next time, don't go doing stuff like that. My tree is pretty tall for a tree in a backyard, so you could have just as easily injured yourself more than you already have."
Concern was hinting at Sapnap's voice as he spoke. George smiled softly. Knowing that Sapnap cared about him. 'No! I don't care if he cares for me! I'm only here to kill him. That's it.' He thought to himself, the smile fading from his face.
Sapnap then though for a moment. "But, my backyard. There are tons of other people's houses here and they chose my backyard?" Sapnap Looked at George, curiously. "Do these people know me or something?"
Sapnap needed some other form of answers. "Or was my house just the closest?"
"Well, they might know you." George then stopped what he was saying. He realized that if he told too much of the truth, he could be found out. He then shifted the story from what he was about to say to something else. "Or it might have been the fact that your tree is a lot taller than most other people's."
Sapnap nodded at the response. He wasn't all too good at differentiating lies and truths, meaning that George's story sounded believable to him. Well, almost believable.
"Well, I'm not gonna ask anymore questions, but I will ask you to stay here considering your leg won't be getting better anytime soon." Sapnap began fiddling with his fingers as he was feeling somewhat nervous about asking this.
"Unless you can call someone to pick you up of course!" He quickly added on. He didn't want to force George into staying but, he silently hoped he was going to stay. He sighed softly. 'Wow, nice save genius.' he thought angrily to himself.
"Well," George stopped and thought for a moment. He could either call Dream and fail the mission by himself/ aka requesting for backup, or he could gain Sapnap's trust by staying here and hanging out. Both parts had pro's and con's to them, but if George chose to stay, he would get a chance to stay with a cute boy. 'Kill. I mean kill the cute boy. Wait! No ugh' George thought.
George's annoyance was showing on his face and Sapnap scielintly worried that George was going to reject him.
"I don't think-" George began before getting cut off by Sapnap.
"Okay, okay. You can call your friend. I'll get you my phone if you need it." Sapnap sighed, disappointedly, reaching for his phone in his back pocket.
"I didn't finish," George stated as Sapnap was getting his phone out.
"What?"
"I said I didn't get to finish."
"Oh... well go ahead."
George sighed before continuing. "What I was going to say is no, I don't think I have anyone I can call."
Sapnap silently celebrated, knowing George is going to stay and he wouldn't have to leave.
"I mean, my friends are cowards when it comes down to interacting with people. Especially if it comes down to interacting with a person they had negatively impacted." George added to the story, to make it seem more believable that the dare was a real thing.
"So? You staying?" Sapnap asked with hope in his voice.
"Guess so." George chuckled. Sapnap celebrated, a loud yes escaping from his mouth
"I mean- okay. I'll get the uhh guest bedroom tidied up-" Sapnap quickly ran out of the room and into the guest bedroom downstairs. From George's line of sight, he could see Sapnap dancing and celebrating. George laughed, seeing that his new friend was so happy.
'Not a friend. Just... temporary alliance.' George thought to himself. He couldn't let himself get attached to Sapnap.
Despite what he keeps telling himself, deep down, he knows. He is catching feelings.
Okay I know I said I was gonna make this longer, but towards the end, I ran out of ideas. I hope the next one will be longer.
Anyways, have a good night, morning, evening, or whatever you call it. Cya!
