(A/N:  Thanks so much for 5 reads on the last chapter! I appreciate it so much! I hope this chapter fills your needs for a chapter o-0)

Edited to fix past mistakes!

The 8 AM bell rings as Sam sits in her seat. The teacher starts blabbing on about... Something. A few kids are heard whispering, "Have you heard? There's a new student and they ignored the popular girls." "Really? I would literally KILL for them to even look in my direction." The other girl said.

Sam decided to, yet again, stare out her window. School wasn't her thing, and all she had to do was pass her classes, which was quite easy.

Lunch rolls around and Sam goes up to the roof to eat lunch with Hallie and Alex, like usual. Sam was looking down at her feet while on her way. Sam bumps into a girl with bleached-blonde hair. Sam looks up and says, "Oh, my god! I am so sorry!" "It's no big deal, don't worry about it!" The girl says. "Hey wait, you're the new kid, right? My name is Sam Shirodani! Please, call me Sam." Sam says, "My name is Cynthia Nana, lovely to meet you." Cynthia replies, "Likewise! Anyways, would you want to eat lunch with me? It's just me, my best friend, and her boyfriend." "Sure".

The two make it to the roof and head towards Hallie and Alex, sitting on a bench. "Well, it seems that we have a newcomer!" Hallie implies with just a hint of sarcasm in her voice. "Guys, meet Cynthia!" Sam says, "Well it's nice to meet you!" Hallie says, "Welcome." Alex says with a monotone voice.

Soon after everyone is seated on a bench. "So Alex, how's the case been treating you?" Sam asks, "Case?" Cynthia replies. "He's working on the Liberty Killer case!" Hallie says excitedly, "Really?!" Cynthia responds, shell-shocked. "Yeah, I mean I don't play a huge role in it, but in the future, I will," Alex says, hesitantly, "That's so cool! Do you have any leads?" Cynthia asks, "Most of them I cannot say for, well, reasons. But there is one that we are reaching out to coders for, we have a blood-written message in some sort of code, and we are trying to decode it, but we've tried everything! Even coders have said that it's no use..." Alex says, almost disappointed. "So, what you're saying is that it's a made-up language?" Sam says, "I guess." Alex replies, "Well, are your coworkers friendly?" Hallie asks, trying to shift the conversation, "Yeah, they are! They've shown me all of the useful evidence that helped them advance further throughout the investigation.

"Ooo! Juicy details you've been spouting there, buddy!" Sam teases, "Shit." Alex says, "I'm kidding I'm kidding!" Sam reassures, "You better be." Alex says with a monotone voice, looking directly at Sam. "If I end up dead tonight, Alex is the one who killed me," Sam says with wide eyes. Hallie and Cynthia both burst into laughter as the other two looked at each other with either fear or anger in their eyes.

The group continues to talk about random nonsense that comes to mind first. The five-minute bell rings as the group gets up and splits off, heading to their classes. Cynthia and Sam were walking with each other when Sam suddenly asked, "So, Cynthia, what class do you have right now?" "I have math." Cynthia replies, "Same which teacher?" "Mrs. Kida, I heard she isn't great with her students." Cynthia says, seeming exhausted, "I have her as well, and sadly, all of that is true. I'll help you survive her class." Sam says. "Thanks!" Cynthia says with a relieved look on her face.

The pair walk into math class and take their seat before the final bell rings. The teacher starts teaching math and eventually passes out a project. "Now, get into groups of three for this assignment." The teacher says in a harsh tone. "Hey, Cynthia! Want to be in my group?" Sam asks, "Obviously! But who's going to be the third person?" Cynthia replies. "Me!" A tall brown-haired enby says with a smile on their face, Cynthia turns around in shock as she hadn't expected them to come from behind her. "Oh, hey Spencer! Also, Cynthia, this is Spencer Ayame." Sam says, "It's a pleasure to meet you!" Spencer says calmly, "No, the pleasure is all mine." Cynthia replies, trying to be polite. The trio sits down and works on the school project. Sam gets a notification, and when she goes to check it's a message from Hallie.

Hals: y or n for tonight?

Ant: y so far

Ant: who?

Hals: Natsumi Soda

Ant: reason?

Hals: beat a gay POC 13 y/o to death and got away with it

Ant: your place?

Hals: you know it

Sam jolted as she heard the words "SAM!! Are you on your phone during class hours?" The teacher says "Sorry ma'am! It was my mom" Sam quickly replies, the lie slipping right off of her tongue. "That was your only warning young lady!". Soon the school day ends and Sam and Hallie meet in front of the school and run into Alex on their way out. "Oh, hey T-Rex!" Sam teases "Didn't I tell you to stop calling me that?" Alex complains, hating the nickname, "I'm never going to stop," Sam says stubbornly. *Enough, you two! Jeez, I feel like a mom." Hallie says, audibly annoyed.

Hallie and Sam split away from Alex as he gets home and Hallie and Sam head over to Hallie's house. "I wasn't able to get information on them during school hours. Can I use your computer?" Sam asks, "Of course! Just make sure to get as much information as possible." Hallie responds "On it." Sam says, opening the laptop.

An hour passes by as Sam finishes up with the research. "Finished!" Sam states, "Then let's go! Lead the way." Hallie says with a smile. The two change into the same gear and wigs and leave for the victim's house.

Once they FINISH that stuff (This is me being too lazy to write another gory scene I'm sorry) They both head home and change out of the heavy gear. "I'm tired" Hallie complains, "Go to sleep," Sam says, "I will check to see how their investigation is going." "Alright. Make 'IT' hard to find." Hallie says. Sam grins and then responds with, "Okay". Sam clicks onto the investigator's anonymous tips file and leaves a note "5606 Odori Lane, Tokyo, Japan, 160-022".

Sam sighs and looks over at the clock, hacking into government files were a pain since they change the password every time, but somehow it was easy to find it. "7 am? Hallie, wake up, it's 7 am," Sam says somewhat tiredly. "Hmmmph. Did you even fall asleep?" Hallie asks, "Nope." Sam responds, "Oh, my god you ARE an idiot." Hallie says, "How?" "We have exam preps today!" "Oh well, I'm not even that tired, so."

The two get ready for school. Once they got to school Sam started to talk to Hallie, "Hallie, we've been pretty active these last few days, that's dangerous, right?" "It is, but I believe the police were getting bored. But thanks to your hacking skills, you can make sure we get results quickly." Hallie says, praising Sam. Alex approaches the pair. "Oh hey, baby!" Hallie says, "Hey, T-Rex!" Sam teases, "Hey, babe, hey, Ant." Alex states proudly. "Hey!- you know what? That makes us even then." Sam says with her arms crossed. The trio laughs and they walk off to their own separate classes.

The lunch bell eventually rings, signaling for students to eat. Alex, Hallie, Sam, and Cynthia were all at the roof again when Alex suddenly gets a phone call. "Hello?" Alex says into the phone, "Hmm? Another note from that hacker? What does it say? An address? Go to the house. I'll meet you there. Goodbye." "Who was that?" Hallie questions, "A coworker, I'm sorry, but I have to go, it's an emergency. Bye!" Alex states while quickly packing up his things. "Bye!" Everyone shouted, almost in perfect unison. Alex walks off of the roof into the stairwell.
