     " Jenn, Jenn,"
Jennette sighed heavily, snapping out of her thought. Then she smiled at her friend.

"Before you went to lala land I was saying, since next week is thanksgiving I'll be here with the kids - we would have a lot of fun together, cooking and making thanksgiving snack and I don't care if you are okay with the idea but I'm coming over and that's final". Evelynn said.

Picking her keys and giving Jennette a hug she left to go and pickup her kids from their friend's. Jennette locked her door and sat down on the couch thinking how another year would be up marking two years of her loss and the beginning of her sadness.

The rest of the week was harder than usual on Jennette, when she saw Evie's kids she was so happy to have the distraction from her usual thoughts . Thanksgiving Thursday was great the kids made her laugh with all their drama and she even had a small wistful smile on her face throughout a change from her sad look.

The next morning while Jennette sorted out the leftovers to keep her mind from wondering, she heard the doorbell ring; not even bothering to look through the peep hole she opened the door thinking it was Evelynn. Her house was still dimly lit and with the thick curtains hanging over the windows the house was almost dark.

Knowing Eve would give her a lecture about how dark her house is, she quickly opened the curtains and went to open the door, because she took her time Jennette quickly said before even looking at her, "Evie no question asked I'm fine".

When she finally looked at who was standing in front of her she saw her old secretary and a woman she could not recognize let themselves into her house.

"Hello miss Phillips"  kate her secretary said, still surprised at the unexpected visit she kept looking at the woman who used to be her secretary when she was still practicing .Breaking the thick silence, Kate said

"I know you've told me not to link you with anyone if it has to do with a case, but this woman here really needs to talk to you and I think it's of everyone best interest if you listened to......", cutting her short Jennette spoke. "Kate please go away, I don't want to go through this again"

"Jane, I know how you feel, over the few years we have worked together  I grow to know you and I know this is a case you'd want to do so please listen to me, to her". Kate said and Jennette replied getting angry "I don't want to hear it go away, please just go, I can't do anything I'm sorry".

Speaking for the first time the woman said "Miss Phillips please just listen to me, I don't know why but I think you are the best person to do this case, this does not only involve me, it also involves other women, children please listen to me."

Jennette who could not hold back the tears started screaming "I've already explained it to you", she sobbed "I don't know why you aren't understanding, I Can't represent anyone, I don't want to hear it so please go away or I'll call the cops, I've been asking you nicely, if you don't g soon you'll be begging me".

Tears continued to fall freely as she remembered the reason she stopped practicing, opening the door for them to step out she held her head high as the tears fell on her face. Closing her door she dropped to the ground and started cursing as she cried.

Why does everyone have to remind her about her misfortune, the unfortunate incident that causes her pain whenever she thinks about it.

Lifting herself up to sit on the couch, she started thinking of how her life would have been if she had not met Nath, she would not have had to leave her family after having to disappoint them. She would not have had to keep hiding herself from the press and others who only want to ask questions that would make her think again.

Although she behaved like her dad's words didn't hurt her, it did, her mum's silence also and her sibling's disappointment - Samuel her older brother who no matter what was said about Jennette still supported her was disappointed although he still had her back, Stephanie who was supposed to have an elder sister should her the right part was shocked.

Over the years her parents have come to accept that they cannot change anything. Her siblings never left her even after she left Florida, they kept calling, visiting when ever they had time, sending emails, anything to ensure that she didn't feel lonely. Going back to Florida is an option but she didn't want to go back like a little baby who ran away whenever things was not okay, her pride will not let her.

There were too much memories here for her to just leave so that was always her excuse and her reason to stay even if it hurts to be alone so after that thought she stood up and continued to sort out the left overs.
