It had been almost a year since Hawks and his beloved Dabi had gotten together officially, and with their anniversary coming up, he wanted to do something special.
Sure, he couldn't propose- their circumstances would never allow marriage, not yet at least- and Dabi wouldn't be ready yet- but he could at least make it worth his while.

You see, Keigo had been planning very, very carefully for a long time now. He knew his boyfriend well enough now to read him almost as clearly as a book.

Every time they'd gotten physical, the scarred male had taken the top, insisting that he was the only one capable of it in their relationship. Well, he was horribly wrong in his assumption.
Before they'd gotten together, Kei had only been the dom in any of his relationships and he was rather tired of laying there and taking it. So, he was going to make a change between them in his favor.

This week, he'd was going to be the one domming.

...

Thick silvery pools of moonlight splattered the sidewalk and grass of the nighttime park like paint off a giant's pallette.
The cool air gently breezing by and kissing over Dabi's scars was welcome and almost comforting in a strange way.
A pleasant smell lazily wafted by, though what from he didn't know- but it was sweet and warm.
Clouds hung off in the distance in their little groups, waiting to lurch in and reign their downpour upon the unsuspecting citizens of Japan.

Despite the night not being up to his ideal, Dabi was cheerful- for once. As much as he hated to admit it, he was excited to see his little bird again.
They hadn't had any time together all that week thanks to schedule changes and being too tired. That was fine though.
He'd come to an understanding that Keigo wouldn't cheat- well..

He shook his head to clear it. There was no need to be worried that he would be getting dumped tonight. After all, it was their one year anniversary. Why would anyone wait until that day to do it? Surely Kei would've done it a different day?

Great, now I'm thinking too hard..
The familiar ache began focusing it's harsh drill into his head in the starts of a migraine. Today was clearly going to be shit, just like every other day.
Maybe he should blurt out a break up instead as soon as he gets to the meeting point?
Unless Keigo was going to propose- should he have brought a ring?

There was a brief moment of internal silence as he stopped midstep- foot still in the air- to breathe.
Ever since he'd let emotions gradually come back it'd been a complete nightmare of rushing thoughts before any sort of interaction with the one person he cared about.
Right now he could almost feel fish in his stomach, flopping around to make him grow overwhelmed with nausea.

All that paused with a sudden whoosh sounded from behind, followed by a sudden burst of wind and a silky honey voice.
"What are you doing standing around like an idiot, Staples?"
He took his time responding, watching as the last of the stirred up leaves fell to the ground again and slid, coming to a resting point. It was only then that he turned to face the brilliant hero before him, Hawks.

His blond hair was in its usual windswept style, mostly held back by the branded earmuffs he wore. Those golden eyes almost turned silver in the pale moonlight, watching him with birdlike wonder from behind a shimmering yellow visor. Lean muscles were clearly outlined by a skin-tight black shirt with an intricate gold line pattern along it, disappearing down into his baggy beige pants. And to top it all off, there were the most awe inspiring vermilion wings hallowing him with all the glory of a stained angel.
