Promise

Chapter 1

Summer was ending. You were about to start your first year at Hogwarts School of Magic.

It was the first time you had been away from your parents for so long,  you didn't care because you were away with your best friend Draco Malfoy.

Although your characters differed from each other, you were inseparable. You were polite, helpful and well-studied. But Malfoy was... well, a bit different.

You were just walking down Diagon Alley, you had to buy the last things. You were going down the stairs with a pile of books, unfortunately you swallowed on the untied shoelace and fell down.

The books were on all your sides. Suddenly someone picked up one in front of you.

-' Are you all right?'

You looked up and you saw a smiling girl in your age. She shook your hand and helped you get up.

- 'Hi, I'm Hermione Granger, and you? - 'Hi Hermione, I'm Allison, Allison Parker.'
-' It's nice to meet you Allison.'

She looked at the book she had just picked up.

- 'Will you go to Hogwarts?'
- 'Yes, this will be my first year.'
- 'What? It will be my first year too. Which house do you think you will end up in?'
- 'I don't know, but what I want the most is Gryffindor.'
- 'Me too.', she replied.

Your conversation with her was interrupted by Hermione's dad who called her over. You said goodbye and promised each other that you would meet at school. You didn't know it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

You came back home and packed your things in your suitcases, put an owl in a cage and left home.  Then everything happened very quickly, before you look back, you were sitting  in a compartment with Draco, imagining life at school.

Then the door opened and a tall blackskin boy and a girl with short black hair walked in.

-' Are these places taken?', the boy asked.
-'Yes, by me.' 

You nudged Draco with your elbow and whispered:

-' Draco, don't be rude!', he rolled his eyes.
- 'I'm just kidding, sit down.' 

A long journey awaited you, at first all of you were sitting in silence, but the more time passed, the more you talked. 

You found out the boy's name was Blaise and the girl's name was Pansy.  Even though you were nice to her all the time, she tried to upset you every time but Blaise was very nice and funny.

You got there in the evening.  You were picked up from the platform by a large man who introduced himself as Hagrid, the gamekeeper at Hogwarts.  He was very nice and you liked him immediately. 

You got to school quickly. As it later turned out, Professor McGonagall came to you and put you in a row.  It was time to assign you to your homes. 

There were four houses at Hogwarts: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin.  All your family and Draco's family belonged to Slytherin.  Even so, you didn't feel it was your home.  Of course you didn't want to disappoint them, but deep down you wanted to belong to Gryffindor.

Hermione was the first to be called.  She sat down in the chair, and Professor McGonagall put the hat of assignment on her head.  She stared at the you, and you kept your fingers crossed for her to get to Gryffindor because you knew she was dreaming about it. 

- 'Gryffindor!', said hat. 

Hermione ran to the older students who greeted her warmly. 

A few students later it was time for Draco.  He sat down on the chair.  The professor didn't manage to put the tiara on his head because she shouted:

-'Slytherin!' 

It was your turn. Stressed you sat down on the chair, everyone looked at you.  Draco kept his fingers crossed for you to get into Slytherin to be with him. 

- 'Very difficult... very, very difficult...', said the tiara.   'Ambitious...brave... but also kind...Gryffindor !!!'

You ran to Hermione, and Draco grew sad.  Your parents and Draco wanted you to belong to Slytherin, like the rest of family, but you were deeply pleased with the choice of the tiara.

Dumbledore welcomed all the students and they went to their rooms, where suitcases were already waiting for all of you. 

Everyone had their own room, so before going to bed you went to tell goodnight to Hermione. You made an agreement to go to breakfast together tomorrow, you wanted to introduce her to Draco. 

It was an eventful day for you, so as soon as you put your head on the pillow, you fell asleep quickly.

The next morning:

You got up refreshed, ready to action.  You put on your robe and ran for Hermione.  On the way to breakfast you talked about your lives in Muggle World. 

Draco was standing in front of the entrance to the Great Hall, you introduced him to Hermione and you entered together. You took a seat at your tables. 

You were sitting next to two boys.  One of them had red hair and the other had round glasses.  You looked at him, you saw the lightning on his forehead.  You got big eyes, you nudged Hermione with your elbow. A moment later she saw it and reacted just like you. 

- 'Are you Harry Potter?', you asked shyly. 
- 'Yes, and what's your name?' 
-' I'm Allison Parker, and this is Hermione Granger', you said, pointing to the girl who was sitting next to you. 
- 'And this is Ron.' 

You shook his hand in greeting and smiled kindly at him. 

-' I've heard a lot about you Harry.', said Hermione. 
-' The world of magic is something new to me.  I have the impression that other people know more about me than I do.' 

All four of you laughed.

Your first lesson was Potions with Professor Snape.  You can see that he didn't like Harry, because he was hassling him all the time. 

You were impressed with Hermione's knowledge, even though you studied yourself, she was better than you.

Another lesson was flying on a broomstick.  This lesson was very fun, but unfortunately not for everyone.  A boy named Neville landed in the hospital wing because he fell from a height. 

You were one of the few people who managed to summon a broom, even Hermione failed.  But you were impressed of how well Harry and Draco were flying.  As if they have always been flying.  They'll be good Quidditch players, you thought.

Rest of the day you spent with Draco.  Although you were in different houses, it was not able to separate you. 

You ran around Hogwarts, exploring its innermost recesses.  You saw a long staircase, decided to climb it. 

When you climbed to the very top, you reached a tower.  It was an Astronomical Tower. 

You were leaning on the railing and you were admiring the sunset together. 

- 'Alli...', Draco said.
-' Yeah Dray?' 
- 'I'm glad to have you.', he smiled at you. 
- 'Me too, Draco...'

He turned to face you and looked you straight in the eyes. 

-' I'll never leave you, Alli.', he said.

You extended your little finger to him

- 'You promise?'

He grabbed his little finger with your, making your promise important. 

- 'I promise.'
