Chapter 2 - We shouldn't have crossed paths

"Okay everyone gather around, here in my hand is the answer to the upcoming math test." Xiaojun said while approaching the lunch table.

"Yes, hand it over young comrade." Mark said while reaching out to grab the papers.

"Are you sure these are the right answers?" Yuta asked.

"Yeah I made sure twice, this is the answer to the upcoming test." Xiaojun answered while eating his lunch.

"Mrs. Lin is a b*tch she tends to change the questions last minute, if I don't ace this test my dad would send me to work in his hotel." Winwin groans.

"Guys, Mrs. Lin likes me. She fell for my charms, don't worry." Xiaojun smirks.

"EW gross don't tell me, DID YOU KISS HER?" Karina shouts.

"No I didn't stupid, I used my sweet words." Xiaojun rolled his eyes.

"Oi oi look, the prey has entered the cafeteria." Chenle said while pointing towards the entrance.

"She looks fun." Giselle said as they looked over at Ahrin's direction.

"So this is the cafeteria, the food here is pretty good you should try the bulogigi." Yewon said.

"Bulgogi sounds so good, in my old school we are only served rice with spam." Ahrin told her.

"Spam? Gosh it's been awhile that I heard that word." Yewon laughs.

"You must not have eaten spam that often, huh?" Ahrin asked.

"No, my mom is a food chemist and she hates it if we eat canned food." Yewon smiles.

They both then presume to grab their lunch, as Ahrin was queuing she felt daggers shot on her back making her feel uncomfortable. Ahrin slowly looks back to see NCT sitting on the reserved seats looking mockingly at her.

"Ahrin?" Yewon asked, bringing her back to reality. Ahrin shook her head and looked towards Yewon.

"Ahh, you're distracted by them weren't you?" Yewon asked after noticing Ahrin's movements.

"Yeah, I felt intimidated." Ahrin shrugs

"Don't be, trust me without the money and fame they are nothing. Just a bunch of handsome faces with loud mouths." Yewon explained. After taking their tray filled with food Yewon and Ahrin then walk towards the table by the window. Ahrin looked outside and smiled realizing how lucky she is that she's able to study in such an elite school.

"Did you pick your sport yet?" Yewon asked after taking a bite of her apple.

"Not yet, I was interested in joining figure skating but I'm not that good." Ahrin said.

"Well, you can always join and learn." Yewon encourages. Ahrin looked towards NCT's table again and noticed that they're all writing something down.

'They must be learning' Ahrin thought to herself.

"NCT and Aespa, are they all top students?" Ahrin asked.

"Yeah they are all in the top 27 rank, the first rank is Johnny second Karina third Renjun." Yewon answers.

"You told me that they are all rebels? How come they manage to get a good grade?" Ahrin asked.

"Them? They got good grades because they got the answers to the upcoming test days before the announcements, there look they're actually writing down the answers. No matter how hard you study you won't be able to beat them. A previous student tried to expose this but it didn't end well." Yewon explained.
