daniel woke up violently, sitting up breathing hard. he had woken me up and i quickly sit up with him. "baby are you okay?" i whisper. i could hear him crying and it shattered my heart. i engulf him into a hug.
he takes a deep breath, letting go of the hug.
"i'm okay, go back to sleep." he says softly. "is it another nightmare?" i ask holding his hand. he lays back down, i cuddle up next to him.
"i can't stop dreaming about him. that night." he was referring to the night corey passed away. he's been having nightmares since.
"i'm so sorry daniel." i run my fingers through his hair. "i'm sorry for waking you up." he says. and i shake my head. "no, don't feel sorry, it's okay."
he starts to cry again. "aw baby." i hug him tightly. "i just miss him so much." he sobs into my shoulder. i rubbed his back, and blew into his ear as a sign of calmness. it sounds weird but it's something that i do to calm him. my mom would gently blow into my ear to calm me down, i found out that technique helps daniel a lot when he's sad, or with his anxiety.
he closes his eyes. i could tell he was really tired, he hasn't been getting good sleep.
"i love you." he tells me. "i love you too." he fell asleep fast. i slide away from him and face the wall and fell asleep.
