Chapter 12

"Now what?" Alexa whispered. The mockingjay squawked at her. "A speech?" Alexa asked. "You must give a speech to your new subjects." Paige said gently. Alexa looked around. Everyone was looking at her expectantly. Alexa took a deep breath. "Come with me Aunt Paige. Please?" Alexa whispered. "Of course dear." Paige took her hand and gently tugged her to the front.
"Uh... Hi. I suppose, I should explain where I've been the past few years. I been traveling the world. It was quite fun actually. I got jobs. I took order from other people. It was... good, knowing what I am suppose to be doing and that I wouldn't mess up. Now, its kind of different. I have to be the one giving order i suppose..." Everyone laughed slightly. "I liked my jobs, so I've made a decision. Since I am still young and inexperience, I want to pass the throne to my Aunt, Princess Paige Desiree." Everyone was proud that their princess is wise but they were surprised when she announce she was passing the throne. Alexa gestured for Paige to come forward. Alexa took off her own crown and laid it on the pillow. She took off Paige's crown and took the queen's crown off the pillow. Paige bowed down and Alexa sild the crown into her hair. Paige straightened and turned to face the crowd. "Since every queen or king needs to have an heir. I would like Princess Alexandra Victoria to be my heir. She's now a crown princess, again." Paige said and took Alexa's crown off the pillow, Alexa bowed so that Paige can slid the crown into her hair. Everyone applauded. "Isn't there suppose to be a party?" Alexa asked. Everyone cheered and moved off towards the party area in an orderly manner. NCIS and K-unit along with their sarge waited.
Alexa led Paige towards them. "Who are they?"
"These is NCIS and those are SAS." Alexa introduced them to Paige. "So your supposed jobs were with the government huh?"
"Yeah..." Alexa said sheepishly. She knew she shouldn't be working with the government as it is dangerous and she could get killed. "Its cool. As long as you are safe, Alexa. I seriously hope you're gonna be working with the NCIS and not those SAS... NCIS is safer isn't it?" Paige asked. "Yeah. NCIS is safer. I am liaison officer for them."
"Ah... I will let you hang with your friends. I'm gonna entertain some people." Paige said. "Wait!"
"What's wrong Alexa?"
"Uh... I heard uncle had... arranged a marriage?" Alexa said. "WHAT?!" k-unit and their sarge exclaimed in shock. "Ah. That... I guess we should settle that first... The prince should be somewhere..." Alexa took a deep breath to calm her nerves as they spotted the prince and his father. They approached each other. K-unit and NCIS stood close to listen. "Hi... I. Can we talk?" Alexa asked. "Sure."
"I am too young for this, Sir. I hope you understand." Alexa said. "Of course i do. Your uncle lied to us about you, saying you were 18."
"I'm 16, actually." Alexa said. "Right. Kyle is 17. I guess we can cancel-" The king of Slovenia said. "Wait! Can we talk? privately?" The prince asked Alexa. Alexa looked for approval from the king and Paige. They nodded. He surprised all of them when he took Alexa's hand and tugged her away to someone with less people but they can still see them."Wow. My son is always shy... He never actually try to talk to people. Espacially not a girl..." The king said. "This might be the start of something." Paige said.
Alexa's breath hitched when Prince Vladimir had grabbed her hand. Prince Vladimir was a handsome young man. He was tall and his eyes was a blue that was beautiful. His jawline is so sexy. The way he smirks or smiles isn't the 'i am sexy and i know it' kind. Its' the handsome kind of smirk and smiles.
Alexa stared up into Vladimir's eyes. "Prince Vladimir-"
"Kyle. My name is Kyle."
"Kyle. I'm Alexa."
"Hmm... Beautiful name for a beautiful girl." Kyle said. Alexa blushed deep red. No one actually called her beautiful aside from Paige. Kyle chuckled slightly at her red face. "You look cute when you're like this." Alexa feel more heat travel up to her face. Her ears was getting warm too. "Look. I know it may seem weird but can you give me a chance? We can take this slowly like normal people does you know dating and stuff." Kyle asked, looking hopeful. Kyle was biting his lips nervously, thinking he might have made the wrong move. "But I am not gonna be here. I'm gonna travel to Washington. My job is in NCIS as a liaison officer-"
"Its okay. I can take time off my duties to go to Washington if you like. I want a break from those duties anyway... So, do I get my chance?" Kyle asked, still looking hopeful. "Yes." Alexa said, biting her lips slightly. Kyle grabbed her chin and rubbed his thumb on her lips. "Stop doing that. You're distracting me." He said and leaned in, closing the distance between them.
Their lips met. It wasn't a rough kiss just a gentle short one. When they separated, Kyle picked her up by the waist and swung her around before setting her down and noticing that they have approached. "Oops..." Kyle said. Alexa blushed and buried her face into Kyle's chest. "So... You guys are?" The king asked. "Yep. We're dating. I'm gonna take time off my duties, father. I wanna spend time with Alexa in Washington."
"You're going to Washington?" the king asked Alexa. "Yes. I have a job in Washington in NCIS as a liaison officer, sir." He was surprise his possible future daughter-in-law is a liaison officer. "Good job. Well since it is unusual for Kyle to take initiative. It must meant he likes you a lot. I allow you to take time off your duties." the king said. "Yes! Thank you dad!" Kyle said and swooped Alexa up to peck her on the lips. They laughed and went around socializing.
