Y/N was standing behind the doors leading to the Great Hall. It was bright and early in the morning, and Y/N has been a nervous wreck ever since she arrived at Hogwarts. The fact that her arrival was not known by the other students also contributed to her puttering heartbeat and queasy stomach. At Beauxbatons, she knew everyone and everyone knew her. This was completely different. She didn't know anyone, and no one knew her.
As the voice of a man was heard by the other students, everyone quickly became silenced. Y/N recognized this voice. It was not only the Headmaster of Hogwarts himself, Albus Dumbledore. "Before we begin our daily meal, I have one critical announcement to make. A new student by the name of F/N L/N has transferred from Beauxbaton. As of now, we will welcome her in open arms. Tonight, she shall be sorted into one of the four houses, and tomorrow she shall start attending class."
A growth of murmurs and mumbles grew as the doors to the Great Hall suddenly drew open. With the only instinct she had at this sudden time, she walked to the front of the hall, where Dumbledore and the rest of the staff sat. She tried her best to walk as gracefully as possible. A well known teacher at Beauxbaton had always told the girls to make a simple and fine entrance when entering a new place. "Do not be a nervous wreck, but don't be overly confident either." Y/N finally made it to the Headmaster.
"I do recall we have met, am I correct?" asked Dumbledore.
"Yes, headmaster." Y/N replied
"Please, call me Albus, or what many call me, Dumbledore." He instructed.
Y/N nodded.
"These are going to be your professors, which you must've met as well. If you take a look behind you, you will see 4 tables filled with students. Tonight you will be placed in a house, and will be assigned a table to sit. Do you understand?" Dumbledore explained.
"Yes, Dumbledore." Y/N replied.
"As for all of you, please make an effort to get to know Y/N, for she may just be a new member of your house. Now enjoy your meal." Dumbledore announced.
