I looked at the one man I hate in this world and then back at my best friend then to Dimitri. My eyes flicker between the three people and then my eyes stop at Dimitri. How could I have not seen it, the neckless around he had on I've seen it before it's like the one Victor once gave to me to distract me from Lissa. The man who I thought was Dimitri gave me a smile then took off the charm. It was an illusion charm. I've heard about these they make people see the person they miss most using the body of the person who is wearing it. The face who that showed up was a man not younger than his 20s and had a well shaped pale face. His eyes blood red, his wicked smile reflected everything a strigoi is: dangerous, evil, the cause of a thousand deaths and worst of all, the hunger of the taste that is their victims in their mouth. My whole body was shaking I even forgot Lissa was there. Her body was brushed in so many places her eyes bloodshot as if she hadn't any sleep in the past couple of weeks. Her mouth dry as if she's never had a drink, her pale skin grey, the once beautiful blonde hair dark and dirty. I wanted to attack that wretched man who calls himself her uncle for everything his done to her. But I couldn't I just stood there frozen in that one spot.
" Ah Rose so good to see you, I've missed you. Tell me how have you been?" Victors old voice spoke with so much confident." Would you like some Tea?" He asked. u continued to look at him with hatred in my eyes." Oh Christian my dear so great to see you too,"
"Victor what did you do to her?" Christian screamed in a low voice.
"What one earth are you talking about?" Victor questioned.
" You know very well what I'm talking about. What did you do to Lissa?"
"Oh her, we I didn't do anything, but Borris right here you could ask the same question to." he pointed to the man who was impersonating Dimitri.
" Oh nothing much a little beating won't do no harm on someone, wait it does." The man spoke, then gave a small chuckle. " She didn't do what I asked her too so she I had to show her who's the boss."
"Careful Borris, don't give yourself that fight status just yet considering I'm still around." Victor interrupted.
"Sorry sir," he apologised.
" Now Rose, I thought you would have learnt by now, you keep falling for the same trick all the time, the joke is getting old now."
" As old as you?" I finally spoke.
"Good one, I was thinking that you lost that Hathaway sass from the time I left."
"What are you doing here?Your suppose to be in prison."
" Yeah but that place was boring, I needed adventure in my life, I'm still young you know."
"I didn't know 100 counted as young, what would that make me unborn?"
He chuckled at my remark then returned to his serious face.
"Actually I came here for some business. You see since you and your lover guardian killed my precious Natalie, I couldn't let you just get away with it. So in the time I was in prison I had time to think, think of a perfect way to avenge my daughters tragic death. Then I thought why don't I get the person who killed my child and instead of killed her I would make her watch me kill the person she cares most of in the world, only then would she be able to feel the pain of losing the most important thing in ones life."
" I thought power was the most important thing in your life."
" Your very much mistaken dear child, Natalie was very dear to my heart. So I won't let anyone take away my child without me returning the favour." suddenly Borris picked up what looked like a stake and walked towards Lissa. My attention suddenly regained full consciousness. As i charged toward him Christian lite up his arms and was attacking the other strigois in the room. As I was fighting this man I saw Victor at the corner of my eye moving towards Lissa with a Stake of his own. But I didn't think a stake could harm her as much but then another body followed him from behind and I instantly knew what he was going to do he was going to turn her strigoi first before killing her. But just then the doors barged open and a group of people came in. Guardians. And following them was Dimitri and my mother. They were fighting off the remaining strigois when I started feeling dizzy the whole Room was spinning round. The next thin I know I'm on the floor.
I open my eyes and took in my surrounding a saw a bright light from the ceiling and for some unknown reason I thought I was dying. I turn my head slightly when I felt a sudden pain down my back. A hand grabbed onto mine and stroked it a little. The soothing soft hands then made me fall asleep. In my sleep I dreamt of nothing. Nothing but blackness. When I finally woke up I could hear murmuring from around the room.
"Yes I know it is dangerous but I want her to be safe with me in......." A voice said. I where?
" But think of the risks," another voice then interrupted.
"I'll be there to protect her. She won't leave my sight." the first voice spoke again. I made a moaning sound to let them know I was awake. I then felt large hands grabbing mine.
" Rosa, oh my Rosa how are you feeling?"
"Mhhh" I answered.
" Let her rest we have to ask her some questions later." A female voice then said. I looked at where the voice was coming from. " Hello Miss Hathaway my name is Guardian April Yarbrough and I was going to ask you a couple of questions about yours and Vasilissa's kidnapping. The information you give us would be very helpful in us to know why he chose you and possibly on the location of Christians Aunty Tasha. We could wait till later if you would like I'm sure your very tired." She said really quietly.
" I can answer now," My voice broke a little bit but I could say the words.
" Great. Now I understand that Victor is, was a family friend of Vasilissa?" I nodded. " My question then is why was he trying to harm her?"
" He said.... that ..." I cleared my throat.
" It's ok take your time." she politely said.
" He said that he wanted to kill her."
" Why may I ask?"
" Because I helped kill Natalie his.....daughter."
" And why would he try to kill Lissa for that reason?"
" Because he said I should suffer from the lose of the most important person in my life and Lissa is as me being her Guardian and friend."
"Hmm I see. Did he mention the location of Tasha by any chance?" I shock my head no.
" Where is he now?"
"Who Victor?" I nodded.
" He's currently being held up In a Los Angeles jail. He will be going to a hearing in 2 weeks. Thank you very much for your time I will be getting back to you soon, I hope you get better soon." and with that she left.
I then felt the hand stroking me again and the. Realised it was Dimitri.
" Hey Rose," he asked with tears in his eyes.
"Hey comrade," I replied with a smile. he chuckled then said.
"You scared me you know. I didn't know how to save you, how to make the pain go away, I didn't wanna lose you again." I lifted my other hand and put it on his face. A pain shot through my stomach and I remembered what condition I was in. Tears were filling in my eyes as the thought of me losing my baby came to mind.
"Shhh Rosa it's ok, the baby is still there, out baby is still there." he stroked my hair and I felt more calm about that situation. I looked him in the eyes.
"Dimitri can I ask you a question?" He nodded. "Where are you taking me."
He smiled a little then said "Russia."
