Percy Jackson's a Slytherin, Book 1

Chapter 7: First Challenge

Percy POV 

I had found out the previous night by Hermione that the first challenge was a dragon, she had told me after Harry told her, she was helping him perfect an Accio spell. I wasn't to worried about the challenge because I had fought drakons before and they were older and more powerful. I had decided to talk to the dragon, then ask if I could take the egg, but while I'm doing that have an invisibility spell on me and a fake me fighting the dragon. I was finally ready for the challenge Annabeth walked me to the champions tent and kissed me goodbye, then set out for the stands where the rest of our friends were. Before I went into the tent I casted an invisibility spell, and made a double me. I walked into the tent and double me went to talk to Cedric Diggory (the double is connected with my brain so what I think it should say it says). When my double got there  Cedric looked very frightened, but we don't have a problem with the Diggorys. When I got called to do my turn I made sure that the dragon could see me and walked out onto the pitch. I saw my double fighting the "dragon" as I talked to the dragon.

I had my double merge with me and we walked slowly over to the egg as the dragon moved to the side so I could get to the egg. Everybody(except my friend who I told about my plan) gasped. Then I walked over to the end and saw that I got 10 from all the judges and was in the lead. I walked over to the champions tent, and Harry glared at me but before he could yell Annabeth came running over and kissed me. We kissed until our friends walked over and they all congratulated me. I grabbed my egg and went to the Slytherin common room. When we got there they all told me to open it, when I did what came out was mermish (the language of the mermaids), the 12 Slytherin royals heard it perfectly because the gods had given us the power to speak to all animals/magical creatures. The rest of the Slytherins were covering their ears so I told Frank to get a bucket of water, when he brought it back I put the egg in the water and everybody heard the mermaids song. I knew right away that Annabeth would be taken "hostage" by the mermaids, I also knew I didn't have to do much work as I could already breathe underwater and I was their lords son. It was about 3 weeks before the Second challenge, and I had a lot to plan.
