Chapter 9: Second Challenge

Annabeth POV 

It was time for the Second challenge and Dumbledore had just approached me about being chained under water by mermaids, I of course wasn't worried Percy would get me out of the water before I even knew it. I was a little worried for Hermione who told me that she was supposedly Viktor Krum's most cherished. 

Before i knew it we were all tied up at the bottom of the lake, we being Gabrielle, Cho, Hermione, and I. Hermione and I were the only ones still conscious, as we both had been blessed by Poseidon to be able to breathe underwater. We started talking to the mermaids.

"Why do you have the faint aura of our lord around you", one of them said

"Well" I responded, "I am in a relationship with one of your lords sons and she is his cousin"

We were going to talk more when Percy came to fetch me, he said hello to the mermaids and brought me back to the surface. When we broke through the surface everyone was surprised that he had gotten me that quickly, but soon dismissed it. Percy and I ended up waiting for another hour before Krum came up holding Hermione. After a few minutes Fleur came up without her sister and was distraught, but after a good half hour Potter came up dragging Weasel and holding Fleur's sister. I rolled my eyes, always playing hero like the 'Saint Potter' that he is. Turns out that Potter saving that little girl  earned him some points but he didn't beat Percy. 

After the second task points were distributed we all headed to the great hall, when we sat down at the table all our friends congratulated Percy on winning while Hazel fussed over me, she was like the mom of the group always making sure everyone was okay. After dinner was over everyone headed to bed.

I have a question how does delphini riddle have blonde hair both her parents have black/dark brown hair (I know that her hair may be gray or something but that's still pretty light)
