You took your place on the train, entering the only empty carriage you could find. You pulled the door shut and let out a loud sigh.

You'd left all your studies and new uniform shopping to the last minute. Over the break you'd grown sporadically out of your old robes, so you rushed to get a new set.
Everyone was buzzing around the shops, first years surrounding you as they bought their robes and books. Proud parents bundling essentials into bags for their children.

The same proud parents that managed to shove their children onto the train with you. Most sixth years arrived to the station on their own, all set for the year ahead. There was always one late student... poor Neville.

Turning to face the condensated window, you closed your eyes and pulled your coat around you, trying to silence the noise that filled the train. Suddenly the door flung open and then shut again. "You." Spoke the voice in a low growl. You rolled your eyes, turning your head from the window to the person standing above you. "Malfoy." You replied sharply.

Draco Malfoy. The boy who found you wherever you were. He looked different though. His hair longer... blonder. Draco was taller, and thinner. His Adam's apple slightly more prominent. Ah, and the change in his voice. Deeper..

You looked at him. Challenging his gaze. "See your balls have finally dropped then?" You scoffed, turning your body to face him whilst bringing your leg up to cross over your other. "I see your manners haven't seen the light of day, either." He replied smugly before taking a seat opposite you.

"Get up, you're not staying." You snapped at him before kicking his shin. "Bitch." Draco spat at you before kicking you back.

He kicked you harder than he thought he would- you jolted your leg away, inhaling sharply yet quietly as if not to let him know it hurt. "Get lost!" You said through gritted teeth and turned back to the window, bringing both your knees to your chest and resting your head upon them.

Draco wasn't moving. You secretly were glad for some company, so, much to his disgrace you left him alone.

"Hey, wake up." You felt someone poke your shoulder. Groaning, you repositioned yourself and tried to go back to sleep. "Merlin's sake, wake up.." They said again. Draco. You could feel the train slowing, but fatigue clouded your reactions, before you knew it the sharp halt of the train lurched you forwards.

Your arms snapped out to hold onto the seat but you stood no chance. Preparing to hit the floor, you clenched your jaw and turned your head. There was no thud, no impact.

You opened your eyes to see hands on your shoulders and a face close to yours. It was Draco, his bottom lip between his teeth in anticipation of your reaction. He pushed you back onto the chair and let you go, abruptly standing up and ruffling his hair. "Thanks." You said quietly before standing too and pulling your bag down from above your head.

Taking your robe out, you noticed Draco had already changed. "I tried waking you." He said awkwardly, he was running his hands up and down the door frame, as if he was waiting for you. "Oh, I was asleep." You said stupidly.
Wishing you could shove the words back into your mouth, you threw on your robe and put your coat into your bag. "I know, idiot." Draco laughed.

"You don't have to wait for me you know." You insisted, leaving your bag as you knew it would be bought to your usual room. "Fine." Draco said bluntly and opened the carriage door before leaving you standing there. As much as he irritated you, frustrated you, and made you want to punch him... you begrudgingly tolerated his presence. Almost as if you liked it..

"And lastly..." Dumbledore droned on with the announcements.
You looked up and around you, to see all the students of Slytherin looking bored out of their minds. The impatience of dinner lingered like a bad smell. Everyone was hungry and tired.

"Oi!" You snapped your head to your left, leaning back to see the blonde boy who remarked in your direction. "Meet me outside in 10." Draco smirked before looking at his stupid friends cockily. "Whatever Malfoy." You shrugged looking back to your empty plate.

You'd managed to sneak out of the great hall, and into the corridor. You headed in the direction of the Slytherin common room.
Before you could turn the corner, someone grabbed your robe. You pulled your wand from your pocket and spun towards them. The tip of your want jammed firmly into their neck.

"Zucchini.. or is it.. never mind!" You laughed, seeing the embarrassment on Blaise's face.

"Draco sent you?" You gestured to the corner of the corridor, seeing Malfoy standing somewhat hidden, with an amused smirk on his face. Blaise nodded quickly and let go of your robe. "Touch me again, and i'll wipe that little smile off your face." You said with a sarcastic smile, poking your wand in his chest. You then put your wand roughly back into your pocket before approaching Draco.

"I didn't see you there!" Draco said pretentiously.

"Piss off Malfoy." You spat and continued walking.

"What did you say?" You felt a cold grip fall upon your wrist, pulling you back in the opposite direction. "Get off of me!" You growled, your hand gripping Draco's wrist with just as much force as his.

"Now now, princess." He said patronisingly.

Draco acted like a different person at Hogwarts. Cocky and arrogant, different to the awkward boy you saw on the train. He was smug and rude. He tried his best to contort your emotions and make you lash out at him, winding you up slowly. Teasing you and annoying you, like a little boy. You tried your best to keep a lid on the feelings of annoyance. But to tell the truth.. Draco was frustrating.. no, he was just- difficult.

"I said, what did you say?" Draco spat back, bringing you back to the current moment.
You couldn't be asked for an argument, he was spoiling for a fight. "Draco, I can't be asked right now. Please let me go." You said, your voice had a placid tone to it, yet you wanted to wipe the smirk off his face. "What's wrong, too pathetic to repeat it?" Draco teased, leaning closer to you, your temper becoming short. Your breath quickened as you smelt his minty aroma surround you. Something inside you wanted him to take another step towards you. He clicked his tongue at you, "What's the matter, cat got your tongue?" He remarked.

You rolled your eyes and released your grip from his wrist, surrendering. "Leave me alone." You said softly, hoping he'd get the message.

Draco raised an eyebrow, his eyes softened as you pulled away. He let you go. "Thanks." You shrugged and headed towards the door of the common room.

"Hey!" You heard Draco call out. Turning on your heel you looked over your shoulder impatiently.

"I'll get you next time." He shouted. You filled your eyes and entered the common room.
Damn you, Draco Malfoy.
