first person

i hum quietly to myself to pass the time as i wash my plate that previously held my breakfast.
it's only 7:45 so i have plenty of time before i have to head out.

'it's so boring here..'

i look around for some sort of entertainment before i have to leave for that stupid interview.
in all honesty, i'm only taking it to spite my family but that doesn't really matter now.

i set an alarm for 8:15 and played some games to pass the time as i had nothing better to do.

"god! this stupid spider won't leave me alone!" i groaned out loudly at the screen before i was interrupted by the alarm.
"no!" i yelled out as i die in game because of the alarm

i shoved my almost dead phone into my pocket in frustration as i put my shoes on, i decided that it'd be best if i put my newer boots on.

i strolled over to my motorcycle, it was a beautiful matte black and one of my most prized possessions.
i jammed my keys into the ignition lock and quickly drove off.

"ugh! are you serious?!" i threw my head back as i watch the traffic in front of me.
"why now?!" i yell out again.

i roll up my sleeve slightly to check the time
"come on! 8:48?!" i bite my nail as i am suddenly filled with anxiety.

'i'll never get the job if i'm late!'

instead of waiting longer, i force my bike forward as i push past all the cars.
the sounds of people yelling soon fill my ears but i tune it out; too desperate as to not be late.

soon enough the traffic clears and i can speed up.
after some time i can see the tall tower that i'm supposed to be in.
i check the time once more

'8:56'

i sigh in relief as i park my bike and run into the building.
i speed-walk towards reception, not wanting to run in a work place.

"hello, i'm here for the interview at 9" i grin at the lady, hoping she can tell me where to go.

"ah, yes," she mumbles and types something up on the computer before pointing at the door that clearly stated 'interview room'

"oh! i should've noticed that sooner" i laughed quietly and thank her for her help.

the door suddenly opened before i could even knock.
a girl with pink hair walked out, waving goodbye at the old man inside.

the pink haired girl bumped into me before i could was even react.
"oh my gosh! i am so sorry, miss!" she apologised nervously

"it's alright," i bit my lip and i could feel my cheeks heating up
"did you come here for the astronaut interview?" i ask her

"yeah! i'm assuming you did too?" she giggled before we were interrupted by someone clearing their throat.
the man that was previously standing there with a pleasant look now had a scowl on his face.

"oh! sorry!" she apologised again
"i'll see you in the waiting room." she looked at me before walking away to what i assumed was the waiting room.

i sat down quickly, hoping to get it over with.
i didn't bother to apologise for my rude behaviour seeing as i probably wouldn't see him ever again.

he cleared his throat and gave me a relatively thick stack of paper.
"sign this please, miss ######, then you can be on your way to the waiting room."

i nodded and skimmed through the papers before signing them.
"signed, can i go now?" i asked, not caring to be polite.

"yes, the waiting room is that way," he gave me a strained smile as i left the room.

in the waiting room

the cute girl from before greeted me as i walked in. i looked around the room before quietly talking to the girl.

not much was going on apart from the occasional chatter.
a black haired person with red streaks sat down next to us but before they could even say anything an obnoxious looking blonde guy walks in and sits across from us

"sorry for keeping you guys," he apologised rather loudly.
i roll my eyes and turn around to continue talking to the girl sitting next to me.

but before i could even open my mouth a middle aged woman walks up to the stand
"now that everyone is here, let's get started."
