Hey, all! Here is the next part. Happy readings!

Story Vocab/Key:

[Note: Most of these terms--if not all--are proper nouns. They will be marked with capital letters so hopefully that keeps things from being confusing.]

Loner: Breed that does not belong to a designated territory or pack--most likely a nomadic being who lives in the Open or, if they are tough, the Uninhabitable Lands.

Haze: It is the energy source that the character draws from in order to get power to feed whatever action they need to execute. It is usually only needed for battle purposes or expelled when shifting forms.

Voice: A nonverbal "mental line" that the pack uses to communicate with one another. Important!! Voice conversations are set off/marked by conversations set in italics.

Command: An order given by a superior that must be followed without question.

Guard: A Guard, for lack of a better word, “guards” the pack; that is their role in the pack ranking system.

Aiden sprinted, reaching the woods in ten seconds flat. Somehow, he was managing to stay in his human form, despite the overpowering feeling to shift. He was sure that some of the humans left in front of the school had spotted him, which wouldn’t have been good, considering the inhuman speed he was using, but he didn’t care at all. It was like his mind was completely blank.

He rushed past the trees, leaping over the giant roots and fallen branches in the process. Crisp autumn air prophesized cold weather in the near future. The setting sun’s orange rays reflected gold off of the multicolored leaves on the forest floor around him, creating almost a glowing effect in the air: it was less like a glare, and more like a fog of light.

But, Aiden noticed none of this as he was really only using his senses to avoid the obstacles in his path. Otherwise, he was depending more on some otherworldly sixth sense that had appeared out of nowhere, pulling him along like he was attached to some string and being drawn at an incredible pace to some target. This was something he had never experienced before, and, even in his empty state of mind, he was finding himself completely overwhelmed with some exciting adrenaline that had never entered his mind before. It was intoxicating.

After a few moments, the lure came to a stop, and so did his feet. He stood, flustered for a moment. Then, he felt it once more, only it was ten times the magnitude it was before. And it was telling him to turn around. He did so and his heart stopped.

Peeking around a tree was a pair of bright amber eyes, staring right at him. His own darker brown eyes returned the stare as he observed the face they belonged to. It was obviously feminine and had incredible bone structure. The skin was weather-worn, yet pale. Her hair was long—probably the longest he had ever seen on a person—human or wolf—that was a smoky gray, but had sandy-gold highlights running through it. Her lips were small and natural; untouched.

“You…” he finally was able to use his voice. It was the Loner girl he had found those few days before, except this time she was absent of the dirt and blood. And awake in her human form. Somewhere in the back of his mind, it registered that, of course, this was the intruder that Hyatt had been alerting them to. But, at that moment, that was the furthest thing from his current stream of thoughts at the time.

She had her untrimmed hand next to her head, leaning on the tree, hiding the rest of herself from him. But, after a moment, she slowly revealed herself when she stepped out from behind it. And, to Aiden, saying her body was perfection was an understatement. She was unclothed, and was full-figured and curved in all of the right places. Her shoulders were statuesque, her arms toned and fit; probably from often use in her other form. The girl’s upper body dipped into a toned midsection, then slightly curved out for her hips, then narrowed for her muscular legs. Her small feet were pointed towards him, one cautiously stepping forward, but paused with only her toes touching the ground, as if cautious and unsure of her footing. The golden fog that he had been neglecting of notice reflected off of her light skin, making it appear as if it was glowing. The rays also lit up her eyes, making them dazzle in the light.
