"So any news on this Tanya girl?" Dean came back holding a cup of what smelled like; coffee.
"Not much but I think I may know where the next fire is going to be." Sam looked up from his laptop.
"Well...?" I prompted Sam.
"Well, the demon is working in a pattern, every school that has been burnt down has had a new head teacher within the last six months. But get this... each one reported a strong stench of sulphur right before the fire started."
"So that’s obvious - demons = sulphur smell. Duhh." Stated Dean.
"But no one else reported it, others were interviewed but, nothing. The only ones who smelt it were the head teachers, in every case, who said it was strong and powerful." I watched them both at work trying to keep up with what they were saying.
"We know what we are dealing with Sammy why does this matter?"
"It’s just unusual, don't you think? No one else noticed it."
"Whatever it is, it doesn't matter let’s just go and deal with the thing."
"Fine, I think that its next target is Evergreens High school."
"Let's go."
They both got up and grabbed a jacket each. I jumped up and joined them. We set off on the road and Dean shoved a tape in the cassette player. Metallica played the entire journey.
Dean pulled up to a beautiful country building, I could tell why it was called Evergreens. We all walked in and sat down in reception.
"The head teacher will see you now." A smart looking woman in a grey and white suit announced. Sam and Dean walked though some huge doors into an office, gingerly I followed. There were four chairs facing a desk and one grand chair facing the other way. On that chair was a guy who looked like he was in his 40's; grey hair and wearing a tweed suit with sweade elbow patches. The room smelt like old books and coffee.
He greeted us with a smile on his face, “Hello." He shook all of our hands, "I am Mr. Ford." He announced as we all sat down. He looked at me and said, "So Lacey, I hear that you are interested in joining us here at Evergreen. I'd just like to say we don't discriminate here at Evergreens, based on gender, race, and religion or..." He glanced at Sam and Dean, "...Sexuality."
I glimpsed at Dean and he looked fed up, like he had heard this way too many times.
"Err...We're not..." Dean started.
"We we're just wondering if we could have a look around your facilities?" Sam cut in.
"We shall come back to that later, I have asked one of my members of staff to show you around. Now, we would be thrilled to take on Lacey here, I feel she would fit in well."
"That's what we we're hoping," smiled Sam.
What were Sam and Dean doing? I sat in silence hoping no one would ask me any questions and went along with whatever they were doing.
"So Mr. Smith?"
"Yes?" Sam and Dean said simultaneously.
"Is there anything you would like to ask me before you go on a tour of our most excellent facilities?"
"Err... If you don't mind me asking," began Sam, "how long have you been head teacher here?"
"Well it will be...about six months this Thursday."
"And in those six months have you noticed any strange behaviour from anyone; staff or students?" Dean inquired.
