We got to the end of the corridor, with me lagging behind. Sam and Dean stopped abruptly. An ear pearcing scream echoed through the empty corridors of the school. I rushed towards the two at the end of the corridor. They both looked at each other with a knowing look and took off down towards the noise. I followed but failed to keep up. (These guys were fast).
By the time I reached Sam and Dean, they were both standing in front of a glowing wall of fire. All I could think about was my sister and hoping and praying that she was okay.
"How do we get in?" was my question. They both looked at me as if I was mad.
"You're not going anywhere." Dean piped up. “But me and Sammy here are." During our little conversation Sam seemed to have found a fire extinguisher. Although it wouldn’t do much, hopefully it would allow us to get in to everyone. There was coughing coming from the room but it was getting fainter and fainter that I could barely hear them anymore. Sam aimed the fire extinguisher at the base of the door. As I predicted, it didn’t do much. He kept trying but not having much luck with the situation.
While I was watching Sam; Dean dropped two more fire extinguishers on the floor in front of me. He picked up one and said, "Well, if you're going to just stand there, you may as well make yourself useful."
Dean joined Sam, attacking the fire at the door. Both now coughing continuously. I followed their lead and tried to help as much as I could. With all three extinguishers aimed at the door, the flames around it slowly faded but were still prominent. As we were all concentrating on putting out the fire I heard sirens in the far distance. I thought nothing of it and carried on with the task at hand.
Orange/yellow flames flickered eating up all the oxygen in the area. I coughed and wheezed along with the other two. After a while Sam threw his fire extinguisher to the side and then so did Dean. Following them again I stopped and watched what they were going to do next.
Dean walked closer to the door and lifted his leg ready to kick down the door but Sam quickly pulled him away.
"What are you doing? You could collapse the whole room and kill everyone in it." Sam exclaimed.
"How else are we going to get in there?" Dean argued back.
"We will find a way but you can't risk it Dean."
"How else do you think we are going to get in there? I bet you can't think of one other way. Look the flames are already building back up and this is our responsibility. You know how many fires have occurred randomly in schools in this area, and you know it’s no accident. Let me get in there so I can kill the Son of a bitch."
"Dean, we don't even know what it is. How are we supposed to kill it?"
"I'll find a way." And at that moment the door fell towards Dean. He quickly dodged the door but got his foot trapped under it. A big cloud of smoke pushed its way towards us causing us to cough some more.
As the smoke cleared a little I saw the outline of a figure it looked like a small child. Sam held up his gun to the figure. It didn’t move but the image got clearer. It was a little girl. She had her hair in a ponytail and was wearing a scorched uniform. I looked up at her small round face. It was my sister.
I tried to scream her name, but it just came out as a screech. I could barely breathe let alone talk. I went to rush up to her but Sam grabbed the top of my arm with his free arm. His other holding a gun aimed at my sister.
"What are you doing?" I managed to say to Sam, "Let go! That’s my sister."
Sam looked at me with a hint of sympathy and said, "That’s not your sister anymore."
I stopped struggling against Sam’s grip as I looked back to my little sister’s innocent face. Her eyes. They were black. I mean completely black.
Her eyes turned back to the bright blue I was used to seeing on her face and a big wide toothy grin took its place.
Was I seeing things?
She was still grinning. It almost looked scary. She may have been smiling but there wasn’t a hint of a smile in her eyes.
Sam was right.
That wasn’t my sister.
I heard a noise to the left of me, like a grunting sound. I jumped and looked to where the noise had come from. It was Dean. He was desperately struggling to remove his foot from the door. His efforts failed as my sister stepped towards us, walking on the door, crushing dean’s foot even more. Instinctively I moved back and so did Sam. But Dean.... We couldn’t leave him. Sam had the same idea, he shouted to me to help him with what breath he had in him and started shooting at my little sister. I froze. He fired shots but they didn’t affect her. I stared in bewilderment. Her body leaking blood from the wounds, but not affecting her at all. Sam shouted at me again, followed by a lot of coughing.
I ran over to Dean and tried to help as much as I could, but I didn’t know what to do. This isn’t an everyday situation you find yourself in. I mean, running out of toilet paper or getting a paper cut is an everyday situation. This was just not natural.
"Try to lift the door a bit, maybe I can pull my foot free," Dean said to me.
I looked at the door. It was still slightly on fire or already burnt. So I whipped my leather coat off and used it as a barrier to shield my hands from the heat. I tried to lift the crumbling door but my sister was weighing it down. I noticed Sam Chucking things at her. Knives. Trying to lure her away from Dean and me.
Who are these people? Where did they come from?
She walked menacingly over to Sam and off the door. I managed to lift it just enough for Dean to manoeuvre his foot out between the door and the floor.
"Sammy!" Dean yelled.
I turned to where Sam was when I last looked over but somehow he had ended up halfway down the corridor unconscious. Dean managed to get up off the floor and hobbled over to my sister. Pulling a pistol out of his jacket and aiming at her. In seconds he was thrown on the floor just like Sam but he retained his consciousness.
She looked at me with those black eyes and started towards me. My heart pounding like mad.
"Daisy," I managed to say weakly. "Daisy, what are you doing? It’s me, your sister?"
Daisy tilted her head to the side and this voice that was clearly Daisy's spoke, “Daisy’s not here right now."
There was a long pause. I started to panic.
"Come and play with me." Daisy's voice spoke again. She reached out to me.
Mesmerised I started to lift my hand to her. But I Daisy was cut off as a large shape hauled itself at her. The shape was Dean. He was holding a strange knife. It had a wooden handle and strange detail on the steel blade. He plunged it into her throat.
A scream escaped my lips.
A second later Sam was by Dean’s side helping him up.
I watched as a thick, black, smoke like element shot out of her mouth.
"Sam the blade didn’t work," Dean said to Sam. Sam suddenly started chanting something in Latin. I couldn’t make out any of it, but what I did notice was the thick black cloud that had come from my sisters body was juddering around the room independently. I watched Sam as he finished chanting and when I looked back the thick black cloud had disappeared.
"What...What was that?!" I puffed and suddenly everything had blacked out.
