Life for Choi Jisu had always been rather simple, average, even. She always had good grades. Very popular, well-liked. She was even a cheerleader.

Yes, her life was truly a reflection of "normal". Although...come to think of it, there was one thing Jisu had always gone out of her way to hide.

That "one thing" was painfully obvious to someone like her. However, others aren't always as observant. Everyone has secrets, but Jisu's was one she'd always try as hard as she could to keep hidden away.

Girls.

Jisu had always liked girls. She was, in a word, a lesbian.

That was a simple fact to anyone who would figure it out. To Jisu, though, it was never that cut and dry. To her, being a lesbian meant being someone who wasn't as normal as everyone else. That, combined with the intense pressure her parents put on her constantly to keep up their family's perfect image, needless to say, coming out is something that's out of the question. Plain and simple.

I have to be perfect, and if that means staying in the closet until i go to college, then so be it.

There was only one thing that could put a damper on her plans.

Feelings.

Unfortunately, though, feelings are always there. always in the back of her mind, no matter how hard she tried to get rid of them.

Ever since Jisu was in middle school, she had always caught herself staring at one girl in particular. Hwang Yeji. She was someone who was never popular or noteworthy, but nor was she a bad person or someone to dislike for any reason. In a word, she was unremarkable...except for the fact that her piercing eyes sparkled with the light of a thousand stars, or that her cheeks were always the cutest shade of light pink, or maybe that her hair flowed over her shoulders like an inviting waterfall...and her lips. There were times Jisu had caught herself daydreaming about what it would be like to kiss the older girl. She thought it would likely be gentle and calming and...special. Impossible. She had to convince herself that's all it really was.

Hey. Snap out of it, you idiot.

"Jisu! Get down here, you're gonna be late for school! you need to go pick up your friends, remember?!"

"Right! Sorry! Coming, eomma!"
