hello. sorry this chapter is a bit shorter than usual but i promise the next one will be longer. also sorry for not updating in the last weeks i was just very frustrated about the things that were happening around me and I didn't feel like writing nor drawing i was just kinda feeling down but the good thing is that everything is better now and i hope you enjoy this chapter even tho is a shorter one <3

After returning to the throne room things did not go better. The princess was not happy with her mother's restrictions.

"You can't just let me stay at the castle and do nothing. Lukas is my brother." She tried to convince her mother.
"Your powers are not strong enough. His warriors will easily take you down." It was kind of true. Her training was nowhere near as good as theirs. Also her power bonding with Lloyd was still in its early stage so the chances were low.
"But-" before the princess could finish her speech two guards opened the doors and entered with sweat covering their foreheads.
"Your majesty, we are being attacked! There is fire in the east wing cost by dragons." Y/n's face became pale. It was like her dream, fire everywhere and everyone slowly disappearing. She pressed her body close to Lloyd. He looked down at her with a surprised face, but when he saw how she tugged on his shirt and the way she wanted him close he understood that she was scared. He saw through her mind and into her soul, her fears of losing him and her family. That dream she had just before they left, it must have been a warning.
"Y/n you have to go!" the queen shouted.
"I-I can't leave you here…w-what about the throne and the kingdom? I can't just go into hiding until my brother destroys everything," tears were falling out of her eyes. The thought of losing her home and the people she loved was agonising.
"I know it's hard for you to leave but you have to sweetie, it's not safe here," M/n explained to the princess.
"Is there something I can do to help?" she asked.
"Find your grandfather's amulet. It's the only thing that can devour the dark power that possessed your brother. His journal will direct you. Are you willing to come with her?" The queen set her eyes on the ninja and more specifically - Lloyd. His green orbs were now red and determined.
"I will do anything in my power to protect her and defeat the evil," he looked down at her with a soft smile and it was like the sun was smiling at her.
"Thank you," the queen and the king both said and hugged her daughter. Was this their last hug? No one could predict. The princess lifted her head up and said "I will save you and my brother. I will save everyone. Take care and Aaron, protect them for me,"
"At all cost Y/n," Aaron replied and with that the princess, followed by the ninja left.

The hallways were busy and guards were doing their best to bring more people to safety. The fire reached the bedrooms, but hopefully the journal was still in one piece. Nya and Zane tried to use their powers to stop the fire but it just got worse.
"Save your strength, this is dark magic. Fire made of fears. The flames won't hurt those with a brave heart." Y/n took a deep breath and went through the fire. Lloyd was right behind her so did the others.
Once in her room Y/n grabbed a bag from her closet and shoved the journal there. She also took her savings, a shirt with a cat printed on it and some sweatpants. She ran out of the room before the flames got her.

Once out of the castle I gazed at it from a distance. The whole building was engulfed in the flames. I felt weak and lost. My home, my parents, my friends…everyone I love was now gone. I've never felt so alone. Suddenly, I realized a hand on my shoulder. It was Lloyd. I looked at him with sad eyes which reflected his own.
"Y/n…" he murmured. All I could do was nod. He gently grabbed my hand and pulled me closer to himself. I allowed myself to cry a little in his chest, he didn't seem to mind, instead he caressed my back and kissed my head. "Everything is alright. I am here," he whispered.
'I am here.' the words I desperately wanted to hear. His soul wrapped around mine the same ways our bodies were at the moment. Now I felt like I was at home. Lloyd was my home now. A bakery in the forest. "I love you," he whispered and he kissed my forehead.
"I love you too," I've never put more thought into these four words. I mean it every time I say it and I know he means it too. "It's not safe here anymore…we need to come up with a plan and find the amulet and my brother." I told him.
"Do you know somewhere we can go?" Kai asked.
"We can go into the woods. The trees will protect us until we make up our plan." I explained.
"That sounds good to me." Cole agreed.
"Alright everybody, let's go! We have a kingdom to save."
