The big day was tonight, which was happy and sad at the same time. On one side the ball will be happy and fun but on the other hand Lloyd would have to go and the princess was still not sure if he was her soulmate. She really started to fall for him. Tonight was her last chance to tell him how she feels and the way their souls are connected...if they actually were. She really wants to be with him but she has to rule the kingdom and Lloyd has duties as the green ninja. Why? Just why things had to be so complicated for them? If only they could be together. There was still hope, but for how long?

The princess was at the garden, meditating. Connecting with the world's spirit. The wind takes her soul to a calm place among the clouds, where she would lose every worry, where her spirit is happy and free. But there is something that doesn't want to let her go. Someone wants her to stay. And that someone is Lloyd. His soul keeps her in the real world. He is close and the souls attract themselves. Suddenly, her eyes open and she turns around to see where Lloyd was. He was right there with a loving smile on his pretty face. As soon as their eyes met their cheeks turned pink. They both looked away. After the embarrassment faded Lloyd went closer to the princess. She returned his smile, they both sat next to each other. The world fell into silence, responding to the young kids. The girl was resting her head on the green ninja's shoulder. Both calmly sitting, enjoying the quiet and listening to their souls. Minutes turned into hours and it was still the both of them, along with the world which was happy to see them together.
"Hey," Lloyd's soft voice spoke. The princess opened her eyes and turned her full attention to him. "This is my last day here. And I really don't want to go." Her smile dropped. It was true he was leaving and her emotions only grew bigger.
"I wish you could stay." was all she said. Lloyd looked at her with sad eyes and signed. He scooped her from her seat and settled her on his lap, pressing her head against his chest with one hand and pulling her body close with the other. His strong arms could have hurt her so easily, but he held her like she was made from porcelain, because she meant a lot to him. She accepted him and truly trusted him and maybe even loved him, but he didn't know. The past few days they spent were one of the best days in his life. She listened to him and didn't judge him. She understood how he wanted to be loved and fell in love with him. She loved him, because after all he has been through he was still happy, he was special in many ways. He made her heart do a flip and sent her on a roller coaster of emotions. They really were soulmates and their love was strong.
"I…I love you." before she could react Lloyd kissed her lips. It wasn't like a normal kiss. It held all those emotions; love, pain, fear, passion and hunger, but it was still soft and sweet. The taste of Lloyd's soft lips made the princess go crazy. That taste was so addicting and so sweet, almost like candy, like she was kissing a lollipop. She loved it. The same goes to Lloyd. He enjoyed every bit of the kiss. For him it was magical, he felt loved and every piece of his soul was sparkling with happiness and love. They knew this won't last for long, because this was the last time they would see each other so they made most of it. They separated and met eyes again.
"I love you too Lloyd." she said and cupped his cheek with her hand. "But we can't be together…I am the princess of this kingdom and soon I will have to rule it. And you are destined to protect Ninjago." Her palm dropped in her lap, her eyes were glossy and on the verge of tears. The look in her eyes was sad and distant, set in a time and place where they can be together, but that was way too far away. The tears escaped her eyes and she began to wipe them away. She dug her face in her palms and a few hiccups left her throat. Lloyd hated it. He hated to see her upset so he pulled her into his chest and hugged her tightly as if letting go she'd disappear. She hugged back just as tightly. He began whispering sweet nothings in her ear to calm her down. Her sobs faded and the tears stopped.
"It's okay. I am still here. Please don't cry princess. I will find a way to be with you. I promise." he said quietly. She looked him in the eyes which were a pretty red hue. There was something magical about his eyes, they showed his inner self and all his beauty. They showed everything.
"You promise?" she repeated as if she didn't hear correct.
"I promise Y/n. I love you and I will do anything for you." he moved a stroke of hair from her face and put it behind her ear.
"I love you too." she said and planted her head back in his chest. They stayed like that for just a little longer before the head servant came.
"Princess, the king demands your return to the castle and continue the preparations." he said blankly. The princess looked at him and nodded. She turned back to Lloyd who gave her a peck on the lips and whispered in her ear. "I'll see you later, princess."
She left his warm embrace and gave him a smile before going back to the castle with the head servant.
