I'm a test subject. Is this what I've become? Captain Obi pulled a piece of paper out of his large pants pocket and placed it in my small hands. "These are the activities all of us had to do before we got into our... club."
Before he could say anything else, I cut the muscular man off by defensively stating, "I know this is the Special Fire Force. You guys keep the public safe from infernals," my voice wavered as I finished my thought, "from dangerous things like me..." The captain gave me a stern look that I couldn't quite decipher. His brown eyes looked far out, as if he was contemplating something else.
To get away from the awkward subject, I coughed to gain the team's attention again and asked, trying my best to imitate captain Obi's voice, "so, what 'activity' do you want me to do first?"
One kid, Shinra I think, gave me the gist of what my tests would be. "Oh... from what I remember from training with Company 1, you only have to do some stretches, exercises, power tests, easy stuff-"
He was cut off by the blond boy who he seemed to argue with a lot exclaiming, "and then you have to go up against the big boss, one of us or maybe even the Captain!"
I tuned the two boys out as they started going back and forth on insults for cutting off one another. "Idiot!" "Asscrack!" "Shit head!" Soon, a small fight started as I just turned around to face the lieutenant and captain.
They looked down at me as Lieutenant (Hinawa was it?) smirked, pulled up his glasses to show a small glare in the lenses, and said, "let's get started, Newcomer.
Five hours later Anomaly 1 POV still~~~
OH MY FUCKIN CHEESE AND CRACKERS! THAT WAS HARD AS HELL! I sat on the ground, unable to move to breath as I fought my dizziness and blurry vision. One of the girls I met as I got dressed, Maki I think it was, sat down next to my tired, sweaty figure.
"You know, you still have two more tests left," she said, looking around at her team.
I stared in disbelief at the muscular woman. I fumbled around in my pockets for the piece of paper Captain Obi gave me. "All the tests are do-" I deadpanned while glaring at the two last tests.
"Fire Power and Main Fight. Good luck, dood." Maki patted my back one more time before going to break up another one of Shinra and Arthur's meaningless arguments.
Before getting up to show Vulcan, Lisa, Sir, and the lieutenant and captain my fire power, I grazed my hand along my earlobe. Sir (also known as Inspector Licht I guess... he's still Sir to me) gave me a small, red earring with the letters A1 in them before as I stretched for the tests. I figured out it stands for Anomaly 1, but it still means a lot to me.
I was knocked out of my thoughts as Captain Obi yelled towards me, "C'mon, man! Only two more to go!" With that, I ran over to get done with the last tests.
Sir (Viktor Licht) POV
Captain said something that came out muffled in my mind since I stayed deep in my own thoughts. I deciphered it as 'Ok. You can do the Fire Power test first, please.' My anomaly sighed and slumped a bit, but nodded anyway.
They stepped back onto the cement fighting area, then huffed a big breath, waiting for the right time to burst into flames. When they released the breath, only a small flame appeared on their nose. The former infernal giggled a bit whilst crossing their eyes to see the small flame.
I and the rest of my teammates watched and deadpanned at the small figure. Seriously? That's all they could do? I was just about to tell Captain Obi to give up on it for now, until Shinra came flying back towards my anomaly from one of Arthur's punches. My anomaly didn't notice until Kusakabe whizzed past their head.
They jumped at least five feet in the air and hastily yelled, "THE HELL!?" While airborne, they burst into a living, white and blue fireball. They screamed and fell to the ground with a 'thump.'
I observed their flames. They started white, probably the hottest part, and eased out into a light and dark blue. I put my hand inches away from one of the smallest flames on their body. Instead of it being scolding hot, it was... cold? My hand felt as if it was in a meat freezer! I snatched my bony hand away and kept examining.
The flames were only on body parts that showed skin; nothing under the fire coat was ablaze. "When they feel big emotions, their flames would go ablaze. How much they felt that feeling depends on the flame's size. Maybe while training, we can channel those emotions towards fighting and they can be even more helpful!" My large smile grew on my face and immediately left when I noticed I said that out loud.
"Good observation, Inspector Licht," Vulcan called out to me. I shook myself out of my thoughts and gave the red head a warm smile. As Captain Obi talked with my anomaly, I wrote down all my findings. (I'll write them all down for you thirsty beasts in a different chapter ;) ) So much stuff was just... different about them than any of the other experiments I've done. It's so exhilarating!
Out of nowhere, Captain stood up from his squatting position (I never told you guys, but the anomaly is kinda... vertically challenged) and clapped his hands together so hard it made me jump a little. "Okay! Time for your last test, newcomer; The-"
My anomaly started walking towards the center of the training center, but not before patting the captain's back and saying, "I know, I know... I need to fight someone, probably one of those two boys." She pointed at Arthur and Shinra, then continued, "they always seem up for a tough fight."
The two teens stopped their small argument and looked at my anomaly and smiled. "I wanna fight them," they both said. Directly after both boys shot each other a nasty glare.
Captain Obi, still highly offended by the anomaly cutting him off, huffed a harsh breath and loudly replied, "Arthur and Shinra will both go up against the newcomer. None of you use 100% of your power, though." The three nodded and the battle began.
Honey to muchhhh! I'm posting like... 3 other chapters today, too. I felt bad for not making anything for you thirsty devil lately. Oh yea... I also binged Danganronpa. JESUS DOOD! That show was awesome! If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it. Anyways, since its winter, if you live up North, go sledding. If you live in the ugly South like me, go climb a tree or something. One way or another, go do something fun and dangerous! Have a nice time, my devils!
