I walked over the fridge and opened it to see nothing but milk and some ham. Of corse we don't have anything, that whore hasn't been home in days.

I drifted over to the counter and pulled out my phone.

I smiled when Elisabeth replied almost instantly. what are best friends for right?

"Do ever wonder if they just want to make us fat so that if the world turns into zombies we'd be the first to go?"
Elisabeth was scrapped over my couch. Feet high in the air as she stared at her polished toes.

I stifled a giggle, "What are you talking about? Who the fridge is they?" My hands raised in exasperation.

Elisabeth turned her head and gave me a cheeky grin. "Oh you know the man." I held my confused look. Her cheeks puffed out as she let out a sigh."The government. The people who say they give us choices but really hold all power over our weak spinless bodies." I laughed and her face turned serious as she sat up.

"Am I the only one to notice what they are doing to us?!" I rolled my eyes and smirked at her."Hey! When you finally realise what they're doing dont come crying to me!" She looked around and leaned closer to me. "They probably are listening to every word we're saying." I burst out into fits of laughter and she threw some chips at me.

"Lizz do ever listen to how much bull actually comes out of your mouth?" Her hands formed into fists and sat on her hips. "On the contrary i have never had a cow, or male cow come out of my mouth." "What are we in the 5th grade?" She smiled at me. "It's called sarcasm, my dear." I threw the chips back at her. "They say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit." She grumbled while she picked chip crumbs from her hair. She looked back at me, her brown eyes were sparkling with rebellion.

"Well quoting 'The Perks Of Being A Wallflower' call me below average baby."

I grinned and snatched up the remote from my wooden coffee table. Lazily I scrolled through my recordings settling on the latest epsoide of Castle.

After 5 episodes and four 5-layers burritos Elisabeth and I decided to leave that wasteland of home.

"So I heard from Skylar that you and Grayson are partners in biology."

I winced when I heard his name. Why does he have such a hold on me? Don't ask I'm not entirely sure myself. "Mhmm." Elisabeth glanced at me as we turned into Ray's cafe. She parked the car and fully turned her nbody towrads me. "Reagan, How are you really?" My friend had a concerned look in her big soft brown eyes.

I smiled weakly at her, "I'm okay with it actually. He still makes me have those butterflies you know? Mr. C is making him tutor me..." My voice got quieter and I looked down at my hands. "What?!" Elisabeth sqeaked. "Wh-when were you planning on telling me? Are you gonna do it? Whe does he want to meet up with you? Are you gonna be okay with this? Do you know what your gonna wear?Wha-''

''Lizz breath.'' I let out a shakey laugh as I put a hand on her shoulder. "Yeah Im going to do it, you know I need to graduate. I need to get out Lizz. We're meeting up tomorrow after school.'' Her eyes searched my face. "Well-" she let out a breath.

"Let's go get some caffine, Yeah?'' I smiled at her. She always knew what to say. She was my best friend.

-----------

I glanced at Elisabeth's dash. 12:00 am. I saw my mother's car in the driveway. Im screwed if she's awake.

"I'm sorry Reagan I forgot about the time." Elisabeth's voice was rushed and apoligetic. "It's fine. I'll be okay.'' I gave her a half smile and opened the car door. "You better call me if she does anything, you know I'll be over here in a fl-" "Lizz," I interrupeted her. "I'll be fine." I stepped out of the car and walked up the porch steps.

Jeez. Do they have to be so sqeaky?

I turned and waved at Elisabeth she gave me a small smile and drove off. I Unlocked the door and opened it softly. It was dark. She's asleep. I let out a relieved breath. Good. I walked on my tippy-toes up the steps and made it to my room. I walked in and let out a yelp when the lights turned on and i turned and saw my mother sitting on the bed.

She was drunk i could already tell by her bloodshot eyes and the wicked grin on her lips. "Well,Well Look who showd up finally." She got up and walked towards me. "Where were you?" She snarled at me. I whimpered,"I went out for coffee with Elisabeth ,and-" She smacked me across my face.

"Don't lie to me you little basterd! You were out with a boy werent you?!?!" She spat at me. "No! I pro-" She hit me again, her hand collding with my face. I felt the stinging in my nose and I tasted the metalic liquid in my mouth.

"You think that you can just sit there and lie to my face like that?'' She gripped my wrist her finger nails bit into my skin as she slammed me up against the wall. I felt the fear bubble up in me when she leaned in closer. "Your my only mistake in my life." She slammed me onto the floor and I felt the stabbing in my back. "Your worthless."

She spit on my face and slammed my door as she walked out.

My whole body was numb. I tasted salty tears mix with the metalic taste in my mouth. I brought my legs up to my chest and let the tears fall. Because they let me feel the pain and pain was my only friend.
