Boy Best Friend

Chapter 1

Skye's POV

I woke up to the ring of a text message.

Aww you look so cute in your pyjamas! -Kyle

I quickly pull the blankets covering my visible skin from wearing short shorts and a half top and look through the window.

Kyle is staring at me with a smirk on his face. Kyle is my absolute best friend in the world and he happens to live next door to me. Although he is extremely attractive and the best football player at our school, I only think of him as a brother. Plus he would never think of me like that anyway, he already has a thousand girls after him because he's so popular.

I get up and close the curtains as he gives me puppy dog eyes. Another text comes through.

Skye!! No need to close the curtains I'm happy to watch you... -Kyle

Haha Kyle but I'm getting dressed! -Skye

As I said baby I'm happy to watch you! ;) -Kyle

Very funny Kyle, not happening I'll meet you down in 10 and we can go to school! -Skye

I shut off my phone and straighten my hair quickly. Next, I brush my teeth, put some light makeup on and get dressed into a pair of high wasted denim shorts and a bright, orange half top.

Then I say bye to my parents and meet Kyle out the front. He has been driving me to school for a while now. During the drive, We didn't talk much but every minute or so I would catch him glancing at me. After 10 minutes, we arrived at school and he walked me to my first class. He's so sweet!

It was boring English and I was sitting in my usual spot when Chad who is a super hot guy and also on the football team sat in the seat next to me.

"Hey Skye."
OMG he knows my name!!
"Hi Chad, how are you going?"
"Yeah great! How about you?"
"Yeah I'm good."
He was staring at me so intently that I started to think someone was on my face.
"Um Chad? Why are you staring at me, do I have something on my face?"
"Oh no no, I was just thinking about how beautiful you looked today."
"Oh, thank you."
"So anyway I was just wondering if you wanted to go out for dinner tonight?"
"Like a date?"
"Yeah."
"Um sure."
"Cool I'll pick you up at 6"
I couldn't help hide the smile that just crept on my face. I mean Chad, hot Chad is taking me on a date tonight!!!!!! Just as the bell was ringing we finished exchanging numbers and I met my friends for lunch.

"Hey guys!" My friends I sat with everyday, consisted of Kyle and his two friends Ryan and Dylan and then my two friends Crystal and Becky. They all muttered a hello and stared at me confused. "Whats wrong guys why do you all look so sad?" "Um we are just normal, why are you so happy?" Becky asked.
"Well guess who's going on a date with Chad tonight???" Crystals eyes lit up, "What? I didn't even know you guys were friends!" "Neither did I but who cares I'm going on a date with him!!" Beside me I could feel Kyle's muscles tighten and noticed that he was clenching his jaw. What's up with him? For the rest of lunch we were all joking around and chatting except for Kyle. He was extremely quiet the rest of lunch.

After school, Kyle drove me home and only a muttered a few words the whole trip. I gave him a hug goodbye and ran upstairs to get ready for my date with Chad!
