Chapter 5: dreams that will never be real...

(Author's note: OK. I might continue this bc I have thought of some moments with the reader and Zenitsu, I'm also changing the canon lines since I never saw the exact dialogue during the Mugen Train arc and so it doesn't feel like your rereading demon slayer.)

OH, AND MANGA SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE!!!!!!!!


M/N's POV:

I slowly opened my eyes from the brightness of the rising sun. I woke up like an hour earlier than necessary. I felt the warm presence of Zenitsu on my back with my hands wrapped around his. Did I really forget to wake myself up after an hour? Yes. Did I regret it? No. I felt a slight groan from Zenitsu waking up.

"Hey M/N, why did you wake up this early?" Zenitsu whispered in my ear. I felt a really dark shade of red come up.

"And also, why did you-" (Zenitsu) I knew for that moment, he was going to ask me about why I got myself into this.

"UH I'mreallysorryforthismessIwasjustcold." I think I missed some words... Let's just hope I don't get screwed.

"Oh, it's fine. I just didn't really expect you to go to me." (Zenitsu) Why did I get the feeling that he blushed? Oh, well.




Zenitsu's POV:



Uh... After that line I said, there was silence. The silence was waiting to be broken.

"Hey so, should we prepare early? You know, since we might have a mission again?" I broke the silence between me and M/N. 

"Sure, mind as well."

We went our ways to prepare for the upcoming mission. M/N was slowly devouring my thoughts. It's not like it's a bad thing, but I wanted to think about Nezuko-Chan. I wanted I think about M/N too. The way he protected me back then... I heard a knock.

"OI CHUUITSU, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" (Inosuke) Apparently, Inosuke got up also. WAIT SO THAT MEANS I HAVE BEEN SPENDING TEN MINUTES JUST THINKING. I pushed myself and got out of the room. I was already tired. 



M/N's POV:

I heard a big bang somewhere. Wonder what it was. I went to the place and turns out it was Inosuke rushing Zenitsu. Usual things. I wanted to see if I could speak with someone else since we had more time before we actually had to go. While I was walking down the halls, I see Kanao. I went up to her and gave her a wave. She flipped a coin. I wonder what side it's going to be on.

Turns out, it was tails. Kanao gave me a wave. Looks like she uses that coin for decisions.

"Hey, why do you flip a coin for deciding on stuff?" I asked her. She stayed silent until she flipped the coins. It was tails again.

"This coin was from my master since I can't decide for myself." She explained. I stayed silent for a while. This was awkward.

"Sayonara." (Kanao) Well, that was awkward, I was just waiting for another subject to talk about. But it really doesn't matter.  I waved at her and went outside the butterfly mansion.



I walked outside the gate, to witness the water pillar, Giyuu with Tanjiro. They were talking about something, but I didn't hear it. I then see Zenitsu and Inosuke fighting over onigiri, with the three girls giving them their goodbyes. I grabbed some onigiri. I saw the three servants of the butterfly mansion come up to me. They said:

"You've done a great job on your training! We will miss you."


I felt a slight pity and gave my goodbye to them. I then ran off with Zenitsu, Tanjiro, and Inosuke.




After a few minutes of walking...


I wasn't getting tired at all already and I also ahead of my friends. They're really slow not going to lie...

"You know, you guys should really hurry up, we might miss our mission," I state. Then little did I know, I saw Inosuke using a lot of energy in one go and got behind Tanjiro, making Zenitsu the person behind. 


"HEEEEY, WAIT FOR MEEE!!!" Zenitsu yells. 


Third-person POV: 

After a few hours of walking and water breaks, the group finally made it to the train. M/N and Zenitsu knew what a train was, while Tanjiro and Inosuke didn't know anything about trains since they grew up in the country.


M/N's POV:


We finally made it to the location of the mission. It was a train apparently... I wonder what this demon has to do with trains. Maybe manipulation? Who knew anyways. 

"Wha-" (Inosuke)


"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS CREATURE!" (Inosuke) How dumb can this pig man be?

 
"I bet this is that thing! The master of this land! The ruler of this land!" (Inosuke) I gave the "wtf" look.

"See how long it is? So intimidating! NO MISTAKE" (Inosuke)


"Inosuke, are you dumb? It's a train, have you heard of one." I said, hoping the annoying pig head would stop.

"SHUSH (mispronounced name) I WILL TAKE CHARGE NOW!" (Inosuke)

"Hold up Inosuke!" (Tanjiro) I felt a sigh of relief, hoping that he understands what a train is.


"Hah?!" (Inosuke)

"You never know, it might be the guardian spirit of this land. Also, you shouldn't attack so suddenly." (Tanjiro) I felt just. Dumbfounded.


"No, of course, it's not. Didn't you hear M/N, it's a steam train. It's a vehicle for transporting people to places." (Zenitsu) I stared at Inosuke, knowing that he might attack the train. I immediately went to Inosuke and grabbed his leg. I think I saw the sight of the police...  Oh crap, we didn't even hit the train.  I ended up dragging Inosuke while Tanjiro and Zenitsu were following me.

"What the hell were you doing Inosuke?! We could've been in trouble!" I felt like a father for a sec.

"Hey, don't be rude M/N." (Tanjiro)

"I'm just saying."


"We should hide our swords since the government doesn't know about the demon slayer corps." (Zenitsu) I hid my sword behind my back. While Inosuke... He uh... stuffed it in his pants... 

I almost laughed because of his idiot persona.

"Oi, put a shirt on." (Zenitsu) I heard the train. Oh crap, we're late. 

"Guys! We need to get on, quick." I said. We ran to the moving train and jumped on. Zenitsu was about to fall, but I grabbed him.

I stared at the view I sighted. 

"This is really amazing..." 

"Hey Tanjiro, shouldn't you let Nezuko stay at the Butterfly mansion?" (Zenitsu)

"It's fine, I promised that we will never be apart."(Tanjiro) I felt a bit cold. 


"Hey let's get inside..."  We all went inside, to see everyone sleeping. I felt a very sleepy aura... It seemed a bit weird. I then saw yellow and red hair. That must be Rengoku. I went to his seat.



He was eating. I waited until he finished. Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu were behind me, waiting for him to say something...

"Oh! I didn't see you there, you must be M/N, Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu right?" (Rengoku) That was pretty obvious. I think he got our names from Shinobu-San. 

"Mhm." wasn't that pretty obvious.


"Wait, could the demon be in this train." I might get this prediction right. I smell a small drop of blood but I could be overreacting.

"Who knows? It might be, just make sure to kill the demon with pride!" (Rengoku) He sure seems like a cheerful man.
