AbuseChanyeol and his father were currently enjoying a pitcher of lemonade his Omma had made for them before she went to work. They had been doing yard work all morning and been in the shed building new flower planters for her as a surprise.
He enjoyed spending quality time with his parents. He couldn't decide which parent he liked spending time with more. They both were equally fun to be around. He learned more about them as individuals surprising enough. What their childhoods were like, regrets they had, type of people they dated before they found one another, etc. It's quite interesting really, knowing what your parents were like before you came along.
"I'm excited to see omma's face when we finish the planters," Chanyeol smiles happily.
"She'll be pleased. Might finally let us off the hook for breaking the old ones~" he chuckled.
It was really Tobi who broke them a long time ago. He didn't understand not to paw at the plants on the stand by the back door and ended up hitting them too hard. Though she always complained she was mad about it whenever they would annoy her about wanting something.
"Hopefully, but you know mom. She'll find something else to complain about later on,"
Yeol laughs.
His Appa grinned in agreement with him before chuckling,
"Well what fun would the house be without her complaints hm~?"
"That's true," he grinned, "Wouldn't be the same without it."
The grin stayed on his father's face as he finished the pot he was working on.
Chanyeol did the same, decorating his with mochi's so she knew it was specially made by her son.
"She's gonna like mine more," he teases his appa.
"My gifts have always made her melt. I highly doubt that~" he teased back.
"But I'm her little Mochi~. That gives me the automatic win!"
"What? You think that when we became parents we stopped being the light of each other's hearts? I AM the winner!" his appa declared.
"We'll let HER decide," Chanyeol finalizes with a laugh.
She's going to like mine the best for sure. Hands down.
"Sure sure~"
The two continue working on their planters in silence. However, it's broken not too long after by his father.
"I spoke with your mother again yesterday."
Uh oh...
"About?"
"What happened at school two days ago and what's really been going on lately."
"Oh..." Chanyeol frowns deeply.
"You can talk to us. We'll never judge you," he reminds his son gently.
