Chanyeol grumbles as he's awaken by his alarm clock. He doesn't know why he didn't turn it off last night. It wasn't like he was going to school anyway. The principal gave him and BM out-of-school-suspension (OSS) for their fight yesterday.

He rolled over and looked at Toben, the pup still passed out. He pets him gently before getting up and taking a shower. He was awake and there was no point in trying to fall back asleep.

"I'll just nap later," he yawns as he drags himself to the bathroom.

He does his business and showers, washing away the sleep and stress he's gone through up to the point. Once out, he gets dressed and checks his phone. He scrolls through his social media, answering a few comments about his pieces on Seoul Art Gallery's social media pages. Afterwards, he goes on to text his new friend.

Chanyeol places his phone in his pocket and makes his way downstairs. He eats the quick breakfast his parents left for him before they went to work. He checks his phone as he eats:

He discovers the letter left on the fridge from his mother as he places his plate in the sink. He takes it down and reads it:

Morning Mochi,
Hopefully you're feeling a little better than yesterday. I'm sorry you'll be missing art today, but maybe you can make some with the new canvas we left for you by the door ;) We miss our kiddo's bright smile so I hope it helps! We won't be home for lunch today, but will be home before dark.

Chanyeol smiles happily at the note, indeed discovering the large canvas by the door. He knew it probably cost a lot, so he planned to make something they'd be proud of to say thank you. He brings the canvas upstairs to his room and places it in his painting corner.

He loved the little things his parents did for him, no matter the cost. Even when he'd claim something cost too much, a few days later he'd find it by the front door. That's if they hadn't already given it to him in person. Chanyeol constantly thought about different ways he'd pay them back when he obtained the means to do so.
