The Grinch

I make my way down to the lunchroom and spot my friends in the corner left table. Once I reached them I plopped myself in the empty chair next to Max.

"Somebody woke up on the wrong side of bed this morning."

"Shut the fuck up Tae." I said annoyed. The boy just sheepishly smiled as if I said the cutest thing.

"Awe baby were you dreaming about me again."

"Oh but of course, I plan your murder every two weeks." I flashed my fakest smile. Max butted in trying to ease the conversation." Can we not do this toda-"

"WHAT UP FUCKERS?" The ebony haired boy interrupted as he neared the table.

Maxine mumbled incoherently under her breath something about giving up or throwing herself off a building, I don't know.

"So what are we talking about?" Continued the boy.

I zoned out of the conversation. My thoughts all traced back to the broad shoulder pain in the ass of my new teacher. If I move out of the country I'm sure I can avoid the whole thing completely... No, Max is also a culprit and she has hopes and dreams. I can't force her to run away with me... I also have Mom and Tommy... I mean I can't really bring them all now can i? My line of thought intervened when a fry hit my forehead. What the fuck? I glare at the person who caused my disturbance.

Jimin.

"Hey precious."

That sly dog. He just glanced at me all smug. I swear my choice of friends has to change.

"Was that really necessary?" I replied slightly annoyed.

"No," this son of a- "but it's definitely more fun."

"You all annoy me." "Do we now?" "Yes." I squint my eyes playfully at him.

"A little birdie told me first period was...exciting." He smiles knowingly.

I just roll my eyes. "So was it?"

"The teacher hates us." I say looking at him.

"'Us'? Who is 'us'?" Inquired what I think was Jungkook.

"Okay fine so he hates me nothing new."

He stops and glances away as if he were thinking.

"What did you do?"

"Me?" I say surprised. "Why would you think I did someth-"

"We almost vandalized his house last night but he came outside before we could do anything. So we panicked and she silly springed him while screaming at the top of her longs 'NOT TODAY SATAN'." Max said without a care in her words.

"Gee, what a partner in crime you are." I replied as the boys just cackled at us.

"So that's what you did." Jimin said while catching his breath.

"Shut up." I ordered while throwing a nugget from Max's lunch at him. He playfully looked at me as if he were offended before proceeding to launch the plate of spaghetti that was laying untouched on the cafeteria table.

Oh it's on.

I took Max's burrito from her hands and threw it at him. "Hey!" That's when she joined in with Taehyung's Strawberry smoothie. After that it all turned into a blur. The whole cafeteria was filled with screaming teenagers aiming their food at each other. But of course fun has to come to an end.

"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?" shrieked our school's secretary. Mrs. Linda. She is the embodiment of being an absolute bitch. Our friend group calls her 'the grinch' but in my opinion it is an insult to the Grinch itself.

"Is this how we welcome our new teacher?" She mentions. It wasn't until now that I noticed Prof. Broad Shoulders next to her expressing the same perplexed look she has on her face. Yikes.

An absolute silence taints the room. 'PLOP' oh shit. Some of the spaghetti that was stuck to the ceiling falls on top of the new teacher. A shriek as annoying as a dying pigeon is heard from the grinch as if she were the one covered in food.

"Who is responsible for this? I want to know now!" She demanded.

Utter silence. But of course someone has the need to ruin it.

"It was Noelle Miss," Said the dirty scumbag known as Britney. "She started it." This reminds me of a similar scenario we had when we were younger when she blamed me for coloring on the wall the words 'Fuck you Britain' and I got in trouble. I actually meant to say Britney but I didn't know how to spell it at the time.

"Ms. De la Cruz! That's detention!" The grinch continued, not letting me even defend myself. Even though it was still kinda my fault, it still hurt.

"All of you fix this mess." She demanded as if she ruled the place. "NOW!"

We were drenched in leftovers of different types of meals. From top to bottom we were painted with different sauces and crumbs, juices and slices, bites and overall just sticky substances.

Jimin approaches me and takes a tortilla slice out of my hair. "Ms. De la Cruz~!" He mocks the grinch in an attempt to make me smile. It works. "Come on let's get this over with." I follow him and the others to get the cleaning supplies. Everyone cleaned, then we went straight to the showers to get cleaned up. Later that day I obviously had a price to pay for all the food waste, so I made my way to detention. Which is my homeroom, which is in math, which is my new teacher, blah blah blah.

Tae and Jungkook are by the lockers talking to each other. They have changed uniforms and their hair is now damp. I stop by them, and Tae puts his hand over my shoulder in a caring manner.

"Hey trouble maker." He starts.

"Trouble maker, really?" I question.

"Oh I'm sorry, were you not heading to detention for causing a food fight today?" He smirks.

"What a crime," I mumble under my breath. "Honestly fuck you." I say.

"Name place and time baby." He grins. I just roll my eyes and fake a smile.

"Keep dreaming darling." With that I harshly push his hand away from me.

"See you later kookie." I refer to Jungkook and start to walk away.

"Do I not get a goodbye?"

I hear Taehyung say I just flip him off. I direct myself to math class and a flash of the events of this morning cross my mind. It can't possibly go worse than this morning. I take a deep breath and turn the doorknob.

I see him sitting by his desk concentrated on his phone. His hair is slicked back and the shirt he had is now changed to a burgundy colored one. I noticed that his skin somehow looked softer and his face looked captivating. I didn't realize I was staring until he snapped me from my trance by saying "You may sit down."
