Overusing a Word

Sometimes when writing we tend to repeat a certain word many times.

For Example:
The tall boy really was tall.
Instead use:
The tall boy towered over me.

You shouldn't be repeating the same word in a sentence more than once, or even in a paragraph, unless it's a connecting word like A, For, The, And.
There is an exception to this rule and that is to bring emphasis to that word.
The music was loud, so I was loud.

Language is full of descriptive words, use something else. I call this the Austin Powers trap. In one movie he says,"Allow myself to introduce myself."
