This one happens all the time. I'm even guilty of it.
For Example:
The person that used the last of the toilet paper should have brought up more.
Instead it should be:
The person who used the last of the toilet paper should have brought up more. Some people like to throw in "whom," but most people have dropped that word. I can give you the rule, but even I get stumped by it. It all depends on what the pronoun should be for The Who/whom you're talking about. The sentence I used as an example is correct because "He" or "She" used the last of the toilet paper. You can replace "who" with "He" or "She." To use "whom" the sentence should be talking about "Her" or "Him"
For Example:
The Toilet paper was last used by whom? That sentence is correct because "whom" could be replace by "Her" or "Him"
