Noah laughs. Bryce heads over to us along with the others.

Bryce: "What did I miss."

Noah: "I am Kalia's fa-" I shove my hand over his mouth.

Kalia: "favorite person named Noah." He nods and they scarf down their sandwiches. 

We walk outside and swarmed by poparazzi.

Pop1: "What does this mean now?" I was never a fan of so much attention.

Pop2: "Why is Kalia adopted?"

Pop3: "What happened to her old parents." Okay I don't like attention when it gets personal. That family stuff is still kinda fresh.

Pop4: "Did they abuse her?"

Pop5: "Did they not love her enough or did they die." Bryce, Noah, and Thomas step infront of me. Josh picks me up.

Bryce: "Okay that is enough."

Thomas: "Feel free to talk about anything else but when it comes to Kalia's past, stay out if it."

Anthony: "Yeah they get very very over protective. Rawr!" He claws at them.

Pop3: "Does this mean you guys don't care 'bout her as much?"

Jaden: "No of curse not. They are just very very protective."

Pop2: "Does Kalia have any family left?"

Pop1: "Or are they all dead?"

Bryce: "That's enough. We won't answer any further questions." We walk away. I need to tell Bryce. 

I get up into my room.

Kalia: "Dad! Can I talk to you?" He comes up into my room. I take a deep breath.

Kalia: "There was one other family member of mine that survived that flight." He froze.

Bryce: "Oh."

Kalia: "He just got out of jail and he could full custody of me. I want to live with you." I am breaking down in tears.

Bryce: "Who is this guy?"

Kalia:  "My abusive uncle."

Bryce: "I am not going to let him go anywhere near you. Court is in 2 days." I cry into his shoulder.

- 2 days later -

I get changed into a blue and white striped romper. Bryce is on his phone and when I come down he looks up.

Bryce: "You look beautiful." He kisses my head. The rest of the boys head down stairs. Thomas, Taylor, and my "sisters" will meet us there. 

We arrive at this very intimidating building. 

Bryce: "No matter what happens today I will always love you." I nod. We enter threw the doors and see the others already there. We take our seats. 

The doors open and in comes my uncle. I shrink back in to my chair. He smirks at me. Taylor grabs my hand and squeezes it.

Judge: "Everyone may be seated." We all sit down.

Judge: "Today we are gathered here to decide whom Kalia shall live with. Bryce Hall please stand." Bryce stands. 

Judge: "Why should Kalia live with you?"

Bryce: "Well, she has already warmed up to me and is comfortable telling me anything. I will also provide her a healthy environment that includes her hobbies, school, and a safe place. (I am trying to imagine Bryce like this. It is not working.)"

Judge: "Mark Gonzalez please stand. Why should Kalia live with you?"

Mark: "I know I wasn't the best 2 years ago but my jail time has made me reflect. I am now a better person and want to care for my niece." Thomas and Taylor grip their seats after hearing this.

Mark: "I have a house where I can care for her."

Judge: "Thank you both. Kaila please stand." I stand. I walk up to the podium but you can only see the top of my hair. The whole court room laughs. They get me a block but you can only see my nose. They have to get me 3 more blocks before you can see my chin and above. It is still a stretch to talk into the mic.

Kalia: "Hello."

Judge: "Hi. How have you been."

Kalia: "Good!"

Judge: "That's great you can take a seat now." I climb down and sit back down between Taylor and Bryce.

Judge: "We will discuss who she shall live with. You may all take a break." We walk outside and Bryce hands me an orange.

Kalia: "I wanna stay with you guys."

Anthony: "We do too but that is up to the court." I frown 

Kalia: "Don't I get a say in this?" I finish the first half of my orange.

Jaden: "Apparently not."

Kalia: "Well that sucks." I frown.

Dixie: "We could come visit if you have to live with him."

Kalia: "Hopefully they can see threw that ugly face of his." 

We head back into the court room.

Judge: "We have made our decision." We hold our breath.

Judge: "Kalia will live with Mark Gonzalez"
