Within an hour into the flight, Jace fell asleep, his face squished against the window. We talked a lot, and I am beginning to get fond of him, he is really nice and funny.Jace lives in Colorado, he had come to visit his grandmother in Oklahoma. He he's opted to stay in the dorms as I have. His family lives 2 hours away, but he said he wanted the full college experience by booking for the dormitory. He has a younger sister Liz, starting high school this year, his parents are both doctors, implying they were always busy which had made Liz and Jace close and he was worried to leave his sister alone, nevertheless she had supported him to leave, telling him to live his life.
Jace loved football and had played Football in high school, his scholarship helped him get into college.
His parents wanted him to do either medicine or finance, and Jace said he couldn't do anything about it but gave a cheeky grin, and then barged into explaining his plans to sabotage his parents plan, he wasn't going to study finance, he had already applied for the football team, which explained the whole 'dormitory for college experience' theory.
Upon Jace asking me about myself, I just said,"Oh nothing much, I live at my mom's house, well not anymore she works and I don't know where my father is, or if he's still alive, no siblings, I love to read British literature and other books too and that maybe the reason why I took English lit, I've always wanted to write and publish my own books, and I paint at times, it's a stress buster to me and that's all about it" I end my rant, exhaling loudly and looking over at Jace. He had no expression, but after a beat, grinned wildly.
God, he's adorable.
"You're very interesting Blair, I'm glad I met you" he nodded. I blinked twice and matched his contagious grin,"Me too"
After sometime of talking about Colorado, it's winter, fun places to visit and joking around random stuff, Jace visibly groaned and stated he was starving, he got some food and literally hobbled it up, the two sandwiches disappeared in a minute, not before being offered to me, but I usually don't eat on flights, it's too much of a nausea and the guy was too much of a hungry bear.
Minutes later he fell asleep, his arms crossed and face scrunched up in discomfort, I guessed he was cold, we we're at high altitude afterall and the damn air conditioner was above us. I pulled out my travel blanket from my bag and placed it over his big body, upto his neck, he sleepily grunted in approval and turned to the other side and squashed his face on the window.
As much as Jace looked like and was a big guy and I'm guessing he's 6'1 and well-built from all the football at school, his character was as much as a baby, and for once I could see someone with so much genuinity in their eyes and Jace wasn't an exception, he was a kind person I could say, as much endearing as that sounds,
Now Now, The last kind person I assumed was far less than kind.
But I reminded myself that the whole idea to join Denver was to forget all the bad memories in high school. Ofcourse one couldn't just forget things, but I swore to myself that I had to change this person I was, and be a better one, so I guess not completely trusting but making friends adds to this 'shaping me into a better person' phase thingy? Sigh... I dunno.
Trying to calm the storm inside my weird ass brain, I plug in my earbuds and let Fleetwood Mac accompany me for the rest of the flight.

"Jace, Jace.. hey! Jace wake up" I whisper-shouted at the dead sleeping guy, he seemed to be a deep sleeper and as thrilling as the idea of letting him sleep on a departured flight sounds, even I'm not that cruelly humoured. So I pull my hood sleeves dramatically, hold his shoulders, shake him screaming, "JACEEEEE!"
