The boy next door

Packing.

I got my hand out of Zach's grip and i ran up stairs, into my room, slammed my door shut. I fell onto my bed and just cried. I knew what i said was wrong but I couldn't not say it, it was true. Not even 5 minutes after I slammed my door, there was a knock than Austin just walked in my room, he never waited for a response from me. He closed the door behind him and stood leaning against it. I looked at him with the tears still in my eyes. He sighed and came to sit beside me and he put his arm around my shoulder. "Im sorry Austin, i should've told you." "It's ok Meg, i get it. You can go. I'll be fine." He said with a smile on his face i smiled back and hugged him tight. "I love you sis." "I love you too big bro." He got up and walked into my closet, coming back out with two suitcases. I smiled at him just as Jack walked into the room. "Hey, you guys ok?" Jack asked looking at us. I laughed "have we ever not been ok?" I asked looking at Jack with a smile. He smiled back. "You need help packing" he asked. I nodded and went into my closet. I began to bring out stuff that I wanted to bring with me I placed them on the bed as the boys put them in my suitcases. Once we finished it was like one o'clock in the afternoon I placed the suitcases off to the side of my room. "I'm only now realizing that I still have all of tomorrow to get through and I have almost all of my closet in those suitcases." I said looking at the both of them. They just laughed at me. "You don't think I did that on purpose?" Austin said still laughing. I just glared at them both than went downstairs to join Jonah, Zach and Corbyn on the couch. I went over and sat beside Corbyn. When Zach looked over, he looked so jealous that I was sitting beside Corbyn and not him. I smiled at him than looked at the TV to see what they were watching and I was automatically frightened by Pennywise's on the screen Jonah and I both jumped, I hid my face behind Corbyn's arm. Jonah feel on the ground in fear, Corbyn and Zach just laughed at us. "You guys are babies" Corbyn said stopping the movie and turning off the TV. I was curled up in a ball at the other end of the couch when Corbyn started to poke me. I looked at him with tears in my eyes. "Megan what's wrong?" He asked looking at me. Zach looked over too as i sat there with tears in my eyes. "I don't like scary movies..." Corbyn looked at me like I was crazy but Zach gave me a hug. "Your like the girl version of Jonah." Corbyn said taking out his phone and looking at it. Zach patted me on the head than left the room and went into the Kitchen. Jonah and Corbyn botched looked at me with a smirk on there faces. "What...?" I asked a little confused. "What's up with you and Zachy? Huh?" Jonah said looking from the kitchen door than back too me. I just shook my head and said "there's nothing up with me and Zach. We're friends. And we just met." "Oh really, I'm pretty sure Zach thinks otherwise" Corbyn said grabbing Jonahs arm and going out of the living room. I shook my head again and pulled out my phone
A few hours later
"MEGAN!" I someone yell my name from the kitchen. I ran in there to see Zach standing at the counter holding his hand with his other. I walked over to him and seen blood running down his hand. "Oh my god Zach what happened?!" "I accidentally cut my self with the knife..." he said looking at me. I ran to the closet and grabbed a few band aids and some running alcohol. I fixed up his hand and smiled. "What were you doing using a knife?" I asked. "I was trying to make supper for everyone..." he said looking at the counter. "Awe Zach. Here, you want me to help?" I said looking at him. He smiled. "Sure." I stood beside him and began to help make supper. I didn't know what we were making so, I just did as I was told while making the food.  When we finished I finally realized that we had been making stew. Like meat stew. With veggies and stuff. "This apparently is the boys favourite meal. I didn't want them to know I made it so I wanted to make it here. I'll bring it over there. You gonna come over for supper?" He said as he put the lid on the pot of stew. "Oh, no. I'm not very hungry, I'll eat later maybe." "You have to eat Megan." He said looking concerned. "Don't worry Zach, I will. Later. It's only 4:30. Are you guys gonna come back over for the movie later. Austin and I are making browniesss and popcornnn" I said changing the subject. He smiled before saying, "yeah, I'll drag the boys over so we can watch." "Oh thank god. I hate watching movies with just Austin. He talks ALL the time throughout the movie. Jack is usually the one that shuts him up." Zach laughed before picking up the pot winking than leaving the house and crossing the lawn to head over to Jacks place. I walked outta the kitchen and seen Austin standing in the hall with his phone too his ear. I walked over to him as he said bye to Ashley. I only knew that's who it was because I could see the smile on his face. As I was about to make some comment about there friendship there was a knock on the door. I walked over too it and opened it. My eyes filled with tears as I looked at Payton standing on our front porch. "Hey Meg.." I blinked the tears away as Austin came up behind me. He pushed passed me into the porch and gave Payton a "bro hug" just to be clear Payton and Austin are best friends so I couldn't bare to tell Austin what Payton did to me. I just couldn't. I smiled so neither of them could see the pain behind my smile. "I heard Jack was back in town and I wanted to say hey." Payton said looking at me and Austin "how'd you know he was back in town?" Austin asked "oh, he texted me before when he got here this morning. I also heard from Donny down the road that you were moving up to LA" Payton said looking directly at me this time. "Yeah, Jack says she can't handle herself here. Like she has been hurting herself badly from things that had happened which she still hasn't told me by the way" when Austin said that Payton froze. He slowly looked at me with a look that I couldn't read. He cleared his throat than said, "oh, well we haven't spoken in awhile have we, can we um.. go talk alone by chance?" I nodded and tried not too look scared "don't do anything I wouldn't do. Now imma go get some grub!" Austin yelled after us as he ran too Jacks house. Payton and I went into the living room. He grabbed my arm and swung me around before I could reach the couch. "You told him!" He yelled at me. His grip was so firm it hurt. My eyes filled with tears again "Payton your hurting me, let go..." I said looking at him. "Why the helm would you tell Jack! I told you not to tell anyone!" "Well it isn't your role to tell me what to do and what not to do anymore Payton! This is my life. And your lucky I didn't tell Austin the whole story! Your a real asshole" he pulled my arm sending me flying into the wall as he let go. Tears fell down my cheeks now. Payton walked over to me and pinned my wrists against the wall with his hands. I began to try and break free. It obviously didn't work cause I'm not very strong. I lifted my leg and kneed him in the crotch. It was the only thing I could thing if at the time but it did make him fall down like a sac of potatoes. "Get out of my house Payton! I never want to see you again! Your a jerk!" I yelled as I ran to the kitchen. A few minutes later I heard the front door slam shut. I walked out of the kitchen and seen the house was empty so I cleared my head and went back in the kitchen to make the brownies for later.

It didn't take long to make the brownies. Actually less time than I thought. By the time the boys finally came back over, it was 7:30 pm. Just about getting dark and the perfect time to start the movie. I set the brownies on the table in the living room and put 6 blankets out. There was only room for 4 of us to sit on the couch so I put two 3 blankets on the floor and sat down on the couch because I was definitely not sitting on the floor. I had 3 other blankets on the couch and the boys could fight over there spots. Which they are doing btw. Right when Zach came in the house he sat directly beside me. Leaving no more than an inch of space between us. I smiled as he put the blanket on himself and me even though I didn't want it. Austin looked at me before he sat down and I thought he was gonna say something snarky about me and Zach sitting beside exhorted but he did something worse, he said this, "where's Payton? I thought he was gonna join us for the movie." Jack looked at me than. "Payton was here!" "I didn't incur him Jack he just showed up." I said to Jack as he stood up. "Where'd he go I'm gonna kill him." Jack said "woah bro calm down." Austin said sitting on the ground in front of the TV. I stood up. "sit down Jack. He's gone ok can you just drop it." "No I can't. Austin did you leave her here alone with him?!" He asked getting angrier by the second "yeah I wanted food so I went to your place and left them alone." I looked up at Jack and his eye twitched a little. "Did he hurt you. Actually don't answer that I'm gonna kill him anyways." "What's your problem Jack." Zach chimed in. Jack was about to talk to I put my hand over his mouth. "Nothing. Jack sit the hell down and watch the fricken movie please." I said as he rolled his eyes and sat on the couch beside Jonah. Corbyn sat on the floor in front of the space between Jacks me Jonah. I went and sat back down beside Zach and pulled the blanket on me. I started the movie. It was my night to pick the movie between me and Austin so I decided I would pick anyways. "Seriously Meg, you picked to all the boys I loved before again!" Austin complained "hey we haven't seen this one it came out last week so zip it!" I said back. Everyone looked at the TV but Zach, I could see him looking at me all concerned from the corner of my eye. Without thinking to much, I layer my head on his shoulder and got comfortable while we watched the movie.

When the movie was over, Jonah was in tears, Austin was annoyed, Jack was still pissed, Zach was comfy and Corbyn was asleep. I went to stand up but Zach pulled me back down. I laughed which woke Corbyn up. "We should get going back to my place, it's late." Jack said not looking at me. "Night Austin" he finished as he stood up and walked out of the house. I looked out the window beside me and watched him walk over to his place and go inside. "Guess that's our que" Corbyn said, "let's go Zach." Jonah said eyeing Zach "oh common can't I just stay here" he replied as Corbyn left the house too. "No you can't, let's go." Jonah said finally before he left. "Goodnight Zach, I'll see you tomorrow." I said looking at him with a smile. "Goodnight Megan." He said before getting uk and slowly making his way out of the house. "K Austin I'm going to bed" "ok sis, see you in the morn." Is what Austin said before going into the kitchen. I mounted the stairs than went into my room closing the door behind me. I got changed, brushed my hair than went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I went back in my room and turned off the lights. I got into bed and pulled the covers up. I fell asleep for not even twenty minutes before my phone started ringing. I turned over and looked at the screen 'unknown caller ID' was what was there. I decided to answer it just because. "Hello?" "Hey Megan" Zach voice said on the other end of the line. "Zach? Where'd you get my number?" "Jack gave it to me after 15 minutes of bugging him" he said with a small chuckle. "Oh ok, what'd you need than?" "Oh, nothing I just wanted too hear your voice" "Zach you can hear my voice tomorrow. We're all hanging out." "Yeah but I still wasn't done hanging out with you tonight" "Zach. Jack is gonna be super mad at you if he finds out your calling me at 11:30 at night." "But Megan" "go to bed Herron" "fine goodnight." "Goodnight Zachary." I hung up the phone before he could say anything else. I did feel kinda bad but than again I really was tired. I feel back asleep again within 5 minutes.
