*Sora's POV*
"Cogsworth. . .what happened?" Beast said. He was kneeling on the floor, holding his head and panting. We had just stopped him from attacking us; it seemed like he was under some kind of spell.
"Well, Master," Cogsworth said as Beast stood up, "oh, you see. . .that is. . .How shall I say. . .ah, actually. . .mmm. . ."
"Well, you put everybody down there in that dungeon!" Donald scolded, finishing Cogsworth's sentence.
He gasped. "I did what?"
"Ah. . .you did!" Cogsworth said.
"Who was that guy you were talking to?" I asked suspiciously. "The one in black?"
Beast gasped suddenly as if he just remembered something. "Riku! That's his name."
I gasped. "Wait, Riku was here? That was him?"
Beast ignored my question. "He came from the darkness. . . He. . .said something to me. I can't. . .remember what."
He hunched over, looking down at the floor. "When I was in his presence, I felt different. It felt as though he was using my anger to control me! It felt like he was taking all my sorrow, my sadness, my pain--and turned it all into rage. I knew he wasn't trying to, but I felt powerless. There was nothing I could do. . .I could no longer see the truth."
"Well, I'll be. That must be why you threw all of your friends down there into the dungeon," Goofy said. "You wanted to make sure that you didn't hurt 'em, right?"
"Was that it? To protect them?" Beast said, looking up hopefully.
"Sure. We know you're good inside," Goofy responded cheerfully.
"He's right, Master. We've all seen how kind you can be," Cogsworth said. "After all, Belle can see the goodness in your heart, but I'm afraid you've yet to--"
Beast gasped again, interrupting Cogsworth. "Belle!" He groaned. "I've mistreated her. . . I've mistreated her and been so selfish."
"She didn't say anything about that," I said. I was about to ask him about Riku again, but he kept going.
"She'd never tell anyone of my cruelty. . . She's too good."
"You see, I'm afraid he judges himself far too harshly," Cogsworth whispered to us.
"Why don't you just go talk to her?" I asked.
"But. . ." Beast said, turning away.
"No excuses! C'mon, we'll go with you," I said, hoping I could get him to tell me about Riku once everything was made up between them.

*Your POV*
Belle ran across the ballroom floor, trying to get away from the man in the black coat. You tried to keep up beside her, but it was no use. By the time you were halfway across the room, she was almost towards the balcony doors. She noticed you weren't right behind her and turned around, calling your name.
"(Y/N)!" she yelled.
"Just go! I'll be fine!" you said, started to hide behind one of the pillars.
"I'm not going to leave you behind!" she said.
"No, just go!" you said. You suddenly heard the ballroom doors swing open with a bang, and you turned your head to see Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Beast all rush inside.
"Belle!" Beast said as Sora yelled "(Y/N)!"
"We're fine!" you said from behind a giant pillar. "Belle, don't worry about me!"
