"Excuse me, Sir!", a lady with a shrill voice yells out in my general direction as I pick up Henry from school and walk down to the car.
I pretend I don't hear her. She continues to yell from her car.
"You're not supposed to leave your car parked there when you go up to get your son! You hold up the flow of traffic!"
"I'm sorry. I'll be quick", I say in an effort to get her to shut up.
"You know it's really inconsiderate...", says the harpy.
Another female voice yells out, "Oh knock it off Karen! Leave the guy alone. He's new."
I look up to see a voluptuous beauty in a white t shirt, skinny blue jeans, and blue converse shoes. She's got long brown hair and pouty crimson lips. I can tell she's wearing make up, but I can't see her eyes. She's wearing dark black classic Ray-Bans. She looks like a 90's dream. She's holding the hand of a little girl with blonde curly hair and an angelic face.
"Well next time, park in the parking spaces if your kid isn't ready!", Karen calls out.
"Ok! I got it.", I say looking over at this woman with a short blonde haircut before I get into my car.
The beauty in the white t shirt leisurely strolls around the front of my car and comes to my door with her daughter. She taps on my window. I roll it down she and says, "Never mind Karen. She's a total bitch."
"Thanks for the back up, but I've dealt with worse in New York", I say to the woman.
"Bye, Henry!", the little girl says into the backseat window.
"Bye, Nina!", Henry says back. Ok, so, little girl's name is Nina. I'm really curious to know what her mom's name is. Nina's mom smiles at their goodbyes and I'm dumb struck by her perfect smile. Her teeth are perfectly straight and white.
"Well I just came over to say welcome and truthfully I'm standing here talking to you in order to piss off Karen a little more. It's nice to finally meet Nicole's husband", the woman says to me and when I open my mouth to correct her, Henry beats me to the punch.
"My parents are divorced", Henry says.
I look back at him and say, "I got this. Thanks."
Henry says, "You're welcome."
I look back at Nina's mom and ask, "You know Nicole?"
She answers, "Yeah. Nicole and I are very involved with school events. She's really nice."
"Excuse me! Could we move it along please? Blake has a dental appointment", Karen says.
Nina's mom turns to Karen and says, "Go around Karen!"
Karen pulls up alongside my car and says out the window, "You know you're setting a terrible example for your daughter."
"You're right Karen. Thank you for setting me straight. C U Next Tuesday!", Nina's mom says with a faux cheery and sarcastic demeanor.
"I'm not aware of any meetings or events next Tuesday! Did something change on the schedule?", she asks completely confused.
"You're gonna be late for Blake's appointment Karen. You'd better get a move on. Better check the schedule when you get home", Nina's mom says with a smile.
"Oh...ok", and with that, Karen drives off with a bewildered look on her face.
Nina's mom turns back to me and I say with a knowing smile,"There's nothing going on next Tuesday...is there?"
Nina's mom leans into my car and gestures for me to lean towards her. The proximity of her sexy mouth to my ear is causing my body to react. She whispers in my ear, "I just called her a cunt in code. C...U... as in the letters, the first letter of next, and the first letter of Tuesday."
A look of realization sinks in and I laugh.
I say to Nina's mom, "Well I feel right at home now. Thank you, Mrs. ?"
She answers, "It's Ms. My name is Jaclyn, Jaclyn Calvillo. Nice to meet you...?"
"Charlie, Charlie Barber", I say with my own warm smile.
"Well, Charlie. Henry. Have a lovely Thanksgiving weekend", Jaclyn says and turns to walk to her car while holding Nina's hand.
"You too!", I yell out and I can't help but stare at her ass as she walks away. She turns back to wave. I wave back, continue to stare, and a car horn breaks me out of my reverie.
"Fuck! Ok! I'm going! I'm going", I say before I look down at my watch and then put the car in drive.
