Ivys POV

"Can you get up now, PLEASE" I begged Aspen as I shook her shoulder roughly, doing my best to awaken her. She groaned rolling over to see what the interruption to her beauty sleep was all about . "Ivy! Fuck off, it's Saturday." she grumbled, shoving my hands away before she rubbed the sleep from her eyes. "Well... ya I know but, it's already 12 and I'm bored" I replied, flopping down next to her on her mattress.

She scooted over a bit to make room for me and cuddled against my side, wrapping her arms tightly around me so I couldn't get up. "Girls! did you look out your window?" Mom called up the stairs from the bottom of the banister. Aspen scrunched her eyebrows together in annoyance, groaning loudly and forcing herself out of bed, realizing the death grip she had around my torso. She shivered yanking a blanket off her bed and throwing it around her shoulders as she made her way over to the window pane, eyes squinted as the light blinded her.

She blinked a couple of time, adjusting to the light that now flooded our bedroom. "Oh shit" she said horsely as she got a good look outside. Curious I got up, running to her side, my socks making me skid across the wooden floor. Condensation had build up on the inside of the window, an obvious sign of cold. As I squinted out the window I could see the town was now coated in a thick layer of snow. "It's not even November yet" Aspen said, tightening the blanket around herself as she scowled.

Aspen had always hated the snow, ever since the first time she had seen it, she despised it. Maybe it had something to do with the incident that occurred at grandmas house on our 3rd Christmas. I accidentally pushing her over into a snow pile when we had been playing outside. Her snowsuit made it hard for her to get up so she laid there til our dad came outside with the carrot for our snow man.

"Isn't it beautiful out there" moms voice said happily from behind us as she entered our room. "No" aspen replied bluntly. Rolling my eyes I elbowed her, a General reminder of her promise to be nicer. "I mean, I guess" she corrected herself. "It's so pretty mom" I said, smiling up at her. She patted my head as she always did, I was never sure if it was to comfort me, or herself, but I liked it either way.

"Any plans for your first weekend in Maine?" she questioned, fixing the hairs she had ruffled on top of my head. "Well there was this one thing" I said shyly, I was never the one to ask mom, I always left that to Aspen. "There's a party tonight, would it be ok if we went?" Aspen questioned without hesitation, not even bothering to remove her gaze from the window. "I think that would be fine dear, just make sure to stay out of trouble" she replied, gently rubbing her hand against Aspens blanket covered back.

I could see in her face that she wanted to push moms hands away but she didn't, forcing herself to lean into the maternal touch that she so often refused. Mom did her best to hide the smile that was doing what it could to creep it's way across her face. Aspen never really liked to be touched, even as a child she would cringe when being hugged, the few moment she did where heaven for mom.

"Did daddy go to work?" I questioned, noticing the lack of negative energy. Mom nodded. "Now I have all day to look in those cute little boutiques downtown." She gleamed as she exited the room, heading back down the wooden stairs. I giggled to myself, oh how she loved boutiques.

"Do you know what your wearing tonight?" I questioned my sister, moving from the window to sit down in my bed. "I'll probably just sniff stuff until I find something clean, I haven't even found all my clothes yet. All these stupid boxes." She groaned, kicking a cardboard box that sat next to the window. "That is so gross" I laughed leaning back onto my elbows. "Judgmental much"

Later that day we sat on the bathroom floor, makeup and clothing scattered across the floor around us as we fixed each others hair. "Stay still, Ivy!" Aspen barked, holding my head in place as she brushed through my tangles. "It feels like your brushing my brain, chill out Hulk!" I replied, hissing as she smacked me with the back of the brush. "Brat" I growled, rubbing my assaulted arm. "Girls! No fighting!" mom yelled from the living room where she sat watching her soaps, a black robe wrapped tightly around her. "Sorry mom" we called back in unison. "You wouldn't want your boyfriend Reggie to see this rat nest, would you?" Aspen laughed. Annoyed I turned around, punching her hard in the shoulder. "Shut up"

This was the last thing we needed to do before leaving the house and honestly I was starting to get impatient. Sitting still was not my strong suite and obviously that irritated my sister, like most things did. "Hurry up, please" I whined, scrunching my eyes closed as I tried to ignore the yanking sensation against my scalp.

"Fine, fine, I'm almost done." She huffed. Tying part of my hair back with a ribbon, she stuck her tongue out of the side of her mouth in concentration.
"Done" she nodded, satisfied with her handy work. "Thank god" I said back standing from the bathroom floor and dishing myself off. "Let's go" the sound of our boots against the stairs echoed through the house as we raced down the steps. "We're leaving mom" aspen called, grabbing the keys off the ring and hooking them on her finger. "Alright be careful, I love you! MUAH" she called, not looking away from the TV for even a second. "Oh and put a jacket on it's freezing!"

We turned to each other and rolled our eyes before heading to the coat closet. I called out one last goodbye as we made our way out of the front door. "Holy fucking cow it's cold" aspen hissed, balling her hands at her sides in frustration. "I can't feel my nose" I laughed, hurrying my way to the car. My feet met a patch of hard ice and I skidded a bit, falling hard and landing in my butt. "Oh my god, Ivy be careful! Your gonna break something!" Aspen gasped, carefully helping me up and dusting the snow off of my clothes.

We shivered as we got into the car, the engine roaring to life as Aspen turned the key. "Ready?" He questioned, holding her hand up to the heater as she smiled at me. I rose my thumb, smiling back happily.
"Ready sis"
