Bad Judgement

Chapter One : The First Day

She sets her eyes on a handsome stranger, but everyone warns her to stay away from him...

* First day of college, I cant wait to start my new life, I just hope I survive.*

Lauran: "This is it!"
Jane: "Are you sure you don't need me to stay"
Lauran: "No, it's fine. Thank you for driving me."
Jane: "Of course sweetie. I'll miss you so much!"
Lauran: "I'll miss you too!"
Jane: "Promise you'll call me at least once a day?"
Lauran: "I promise."

* Dorm room 107, I guess its time to meet my roommate.*

Lauran: "Hey, I'm Lauran. I'm your new roommate."
Kelly: "Sweet! I was wondering when you'd show up, I'm Kelly."
Lauran: "I would have arrived earlier, but we got lost."
Kelly: "I feel you, it's kind of hard to find this place."
Lauran: "My mom couldn't read a map even if her life depended on it."
Kelly: "There's this helpful thing called GPS - I don't know if you heard of it," she says and laughs.
Lauran: "I'll make sure to use it next time," I say and laugh at Kelly's use of sarcasm. "So when did you arrive here?"
Kelly: "I got here with my boyfriend a few days ago. We wanted to get familiar with the place before classes start, maybe we'll have some classes together?"
Lauran: "I hope so!"
Kelly: "What's your major?"
Lauran: "It's psychology."
Kelly: "Cool, I like that!"

*I hear a knock at the door, I guess it must be her boyfriend.*

Kelly: "Ah, that's probably my boyfriend Colt. You'll love him!"

*She seems nice.*

Kelly: "Lauran this is is my boyfriend Colt. Colt, this is Lauran."
Colt: "Nice to meet you, Lauran."
Lauran: "Nice to meet you, Colt."
Colt: "Babe, what time should I pick you tonight?"
Kelly: "Around 6 p.m.?"
Colt: "Sure."
Kelly: "Hey Lauran, do you have any plans tonight?"
Lauran: "No, not really. I'll probably just read a book."
Kelly: "Please, you'll have more than enough reading to do, once the classes start. There's a party at the beach later this evening, you should join us!"
Lauran: "But school starts tomorrow."
Kelly: "So?" she asks with a confused look.
Lauran: "I don't want to walk around looking like a zombie, on my first day of college."
Colt: "Actually, I'll be driving so if you decide to head back early, I can drop you off."
Kelly: "What do you say?"
Lauran: "Alright, I'll go. I look forward to meeting new people."
Kelly: "Awesome!"
Colt: "Babe, I have to go," he says and kisses her on her cheek.
Kelly: "Love you!"

*He seems nice too*

Kelly: "Are you hungry?"
Lauran: "I'm starving!"
Kelly: "Great, let's grab something to eat!"
Lauran: "Sounds great."

*Kelly and I head off to a nearby diner, off campus but really close by. She claims they have the best burgers in town.*

Lauran: "That was probably the best cheeseburger I've had in a very long time."
Kelly: "Told you it was great. The only food place you should avoid is the sandwich place downtown. I got food poisoning from eating there."

* I noticed a mysteriously hot looking guy siting alone at the back of the diner. *

Lauran: "Whose that?"
Kelly: "Who?"
Lauran: "The guy in the back. Is he by himself?"
Kelly: "That's Rowan Palmer, and you should probably stop starring at him, before he notices you."
Lauran: "I wasn't starring..."
Kelly: "Sure you weren't," she says and laughs at my failed attempt at lying. "Do you think he's hot?"
Lauran: "He's the hottest man I've ever seen!"
Kelly: "I know it's ridiculous. Too bad he's such a bad boy."
Lauran: "He is?"
Kelly: "Yeah, I've heard all sorts of rumours about him."
Lauran: "Is that why he's eating alone?"
Kelly: "Probably, he has few friends but people tend to avoid him. Supposedly, a guy approached him last year and he burned his eyebrows for it."
Lauran: "That probably just a harmless rumour, he doesn't look like such a bad guy."
Kelly: "Don't let his looks fool you," she says seriously.
Lauran: "I want to get to know him."
Kelly: "Trust me you don't."
Lauran: "I'm going to ask him if he wants to sit with us."
Kelly: "Are you crazy!?"
Lauran: "I'm serious, I bet he'd appreciate some kindness."
Kelly: "Tell me you're kidding."
Lauran: "Sorry."
