POV: Ashley
"I'm going to die." I weakly mumbled as the paramedics closed the doors.
"No you're not. Not on my clock." The head paramedic started to put a needle in my arm while the other two ran scans and put the EKG stickers all over me.
"She's close to coding." The one who put the stickers on me panicked.
"Mm gonna die." I felt the pain in my stomach fade, and I didn't know if it was from the pain meds or me passing out, and I don't know if I'll ever find out.
"No you're not, sweetie. Try and stay awake for me." A paramedic tried to tap my face and keep me awake while another performed a sternum rub that was kinda painful, but my senses started to fade out. The last one to go is hearing, and if the other four go out I'll know what is coming as if I don't already.
POV: Demi
"I don't care what you have to do to keep her alive! Save her!" I slammed my hands on the ER desk of my hospital and the nurses panicked.
"We are doing everything we can. She is already in the OR being prepped. They are moving even faster than they can." One nurse tried to calm me down.
"I need to know if she is alive. I need to know if she is going to make it. The doctors told me she would be fine. She is not fine!" I picked up a random glass and got ready to throw it all the wall before Mark caught my arm and took the glass from me.
"They're doing everything they can and more. If your job was on the line you'd find everything you could possibly do." Mark tried to get me away from the desk so I didn't snap and kill anyone.
"She's in the best hands she can be in. Four surgeons are in there with well experienced nurses at their sides." An ER nurse assured me.
"Find Swift. Find her now." I looked at Mark with the coldest look I could muster and he nodded his head before leaning the hospital.
"Wait!" Camila stopped Mark with her phone to her ear. "They found her! They're trapping her in now without her even knowing it. She's practically ours."
I lowly chuckled. "I want her in my office by tomorrow morning."
Camila nodded her head before excusing herself to relay the information.
Lauren stood there awkwardly, but definitely worried.
"Would you like something to eat or drink, Mrs Lovato?" A nurse asked me calmly.
"No, I can't even think about anything like that right now." My hands were shaking from the pure rage spreading through my veins.
A waiting game. That's what I'm facing right now.
I paced back and forth for what seemed like days, but it was only a matter of two hours.
"Mrs Lovato, I have news." A surgeon ran up to me.
"Okay," I waved for him to continue.
"Ashley is alive. She's unconscious from the blood loss and the trauma her body went through, but she's going to be okay. Her stomach ruptured again and she is dealing with sepsis, but she is going to make it. This time she isn't leaving for a week, or maybe over a week. We can't risk that happening again, so for the next week she is going to be on a liquid diet only."
I sighed in relief and put my hand over my heart.
"She's going to be okay." The surgeon repeated himself.
"Thank you, thank you." I hugged him. "Jesus fuck I was scared."
"I wouldn't let her die. I won't let her die." He left after that and went to go work on someone else.
