The sound of footsteps echo throughout the stairway as we make it to the next floor.
The power and pain pulses throughout my body. I let out a cry but..... nothing.
I let out another cry..........nothing.
A light pierced through the sky. An exit.
—————————————————————————

I wake up in a pool of my own blood on the floor at the base of the 100th floors door. Azrail is fighting for me... and I'm here wallowing.

"Azrail......" I try and call out. He's too busy dealing with the carrier. Tears stream down my face as I realize the situation I'm in.

"Azrail....azrail." I try to call his name louder and louder each time. The tears keep coming. This time they're black.

*Silence...........*
"Nagaro! Hey are you awake Naga-..." Azrail asks.

————————-
From here it will be Azrails POV
————————-

'He's standing up despite his wounds. What's going on?' I thought.

Nagaro rushes over eyes closed. Tears. Black tears. Streaming down his face.
...
...
Bandage unraveled.

'Is he asleep? I need to wake him up. This doesn't seem good'
I rush over but he zooms over to the "secretary" she calls herself as she has no name. They clash and a shock runs up my body.

" Can you feel it?." Nagaro asks.

I do not know what he means. He coughs up blood but he continues fighting. His knuckles start to bleed.

'I know what's happening! He's being driven insane by the floor! It's alive. That's explains why he got up suddenly. He can't take it because....HE'S HUMAN!'

I grab my sword and hit Nagaro and the other carrier. They go flying into the windows. Nagaro continues to struggle to keep awake and the secretary gets up.

"AAAAAAAAAH" . Nagaro lets out a blood-curdling scream. His hands covered in blood and his chest exposed with scars. I still focused on the carrier and eventually after what felt like hours, I bested her. She did not die to my hands, but to hers.
The last thing she said to me was-

"YWxsIGhhaWwgdGhlIEhvbHkgVGhhbmF0b3Mg".

—————
We return to Nagaro's POV
—————

As I awaken, I ask the most simple question.

"What happened?"

"You went insane. For now don't touch the floor."  Azrail advised.

"Ok. Thanks for-" I wasn't able to finish when Azrail drew his sword. 'Oh yeah. We were supposed to fight'

I get up without a word and we start. The sounds of a bloody fist and a bloody sword are not very delightful but.... it has to happen.

"DO WE REALLY HAVE TO?" I yell with tears streaming down my face.

"YES. YOU KNOW THE CONDITIONS. WE HAVE TO FIGHT. ITS EITHER I DIE HERE OR I DIE IN A MUCH PAINFUL WAY!"

"What..."

"I'm sorry. I didn't tell you. I don't want to fight my 'father'. He's like a father I guess I should say. As much as I hate him, there's no way I could kill him, and even if I don't die here and you succeed... I WONT BE ABLE TO LIVE WITH MYSELF!" Azrail explains. It has to go on. I can't stop him. The tears won't stop.

'they won't stop.'

'stop....please.' I try to call out to myself but I doesn't work. The last hit lands. The sword and my bandage falls to the floor. Blood pouring out of both of us. This time his wounds aren't healing.

"A-"

'THUMP'   His body flops on the floor. I walk over, sit on the floor, and cradle his head in my hands as he grows cold .

'Goodbye, Azrail. My brother.....'

...

'Tap....Tap....Tap....' The stairs make a different noise than I remember. It must be my mind. I reach the level 101st door. I open it and it's her.

"You. "  I confront her while she's sitting there. Her smile is as just as I remembered.

"YUI!"  I cry out.

...

'There's still this floor and Number 102... Will you make it in time?'
