~ Madison's POV~
"You are not Madison," Charlie said as I walked into the studio.
"No, I'm tired," I mumbled.
"And blonde!!" Sera squealed, eyeing my hair.
I wasn't sure why or how, but even though we had already spent the whole day at the studio together last Friday, Charlie and I ended up tagging along with Sera to her beauty school that same evening to spend even more time together.
However, it was a nice change of atmosphere as pop music played loudly through the speakers, livening up the mood while hair stylists in-training ran around with different hair tools in their hands.
"It's starting to creep me out."
"Stop staring at it."
"It's staring at me!"
Sera let out a huff as she moved the mannequin head off of the stand. "There. Now Catherine won't bother you anymore," she told Charlie as she returned to my hair.
"Catherine?!" he exclaimed as he eyed the mannequin head now sitting by the mirror, his British accent growing thick. "It has a name???"
"I didn't choose it, okay? It came with a name."
I glanced Charlie through the reflection of the mirror in front of my chair. "Charlie, what are you going to do to your hair?"
A dimpled smile broke out on his face as he looked in Sera's direction. "Serafina is going to chop it all off."
Sera suddenly shrieked as loud commotion sounded behind me. "Ah, my brush!" she exclaimed. "I am not cutting your hair," she told Charlie firmly. "We agreed on a manicure and that's it." She took a sheet of foil from the pile in my lap.
"Deep condition?" Charlie proposed.
"I'm not even touching your hair, Charlie" She dipped the brush in the coloring bowl before applying the color to my hair. "I don't want to ruin your hair."
"You won't ruin my hair."
"Yes, I will. I don't even know what I'm doing half the time."
"You're doing Maddie's hair." He shrugged, nodding to me sitting in the chair in front of her.
"Yeah, and I don't know how she trusted me with her hair. Especially with bleach."
"It's just hair." I shrugged, handing another sheet of foil to Sera.
Meanwhile, Charlie gawked. "Just hair?!" he squeaked out.
"Yeah, it'll grow back."
"But it'll take ages!"
Sera sighed as she placed the foil in my hair. "This whole process is taking ages. How long have you been here, Maddie?"
"This is day two."
Charlie grimaced as he ran his hand through his long brown waves. "Maybe I'll just stick with the manicure."
"Well," Charlie's voice brought me back to the present. "I never got a reply from you but I did get decaf and caf so take your pick." He held out two coffee cups, displaying his nails perfectly coated with bright pink and blue polish.
I took the one with the most caffeine, muttering a 'thank you'.
"Drink up, kid." He took a sip from the other cup. "We got an entire hockey team coming in for class soon."
