"Classes don't start for another hour, right?" I asked Sera and Charlie when we walked back into the studio.

"Yep." Charlie nodded, leaning against the counter.

"Cool. I'll be back by then."

Sera raised an eyebrow at me.

I looked at her confused before letting out a laugh. "What?"

"Got a lunch date with one of the hockey players?" She smiled teasingly.

"What??"

"Come on. I saw the way one of them was looking at you. The one with all the tattoos? He's cute."

I let out a laugh and headed towards the door. "I'll be back."

"I'll take his number if you don't want it." Sera shrugged.

Charlie frowned at her. "Heyyyy."

I laughed even more before heading out. I scrolled through my phone for Jade's name, calling her one more time only to be greeted by her voicemail. Again. I looked through my texts to see there weren't any new replies either.

With a sigh, I hopped in my car and drove off.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I arrived at Jade and Brandon's house, but it definitely was not a large truck parked at the front.

After way too many failed attempts of parking in a small space behind it, I walked up to the house, eyeing the large truck.

"Maddie! Hi!!" I looked up to see Jade standing by her car in the driveway. She smiled brightly as she walked up to me, pulling me into a tight hug. "Oh my gosh!! If only Bennie and Jenny were here! Boy, would they be happy to see you!"

I smiled as we pulled away. "How are they?"

Her eyes widened as she pouted her lips. "Aw, they're so good!"  She placed her hand over her chest and sighed. "They're so good."

"How are you?"

"Excited about your new hair!!" she squealed, her blue eyes dancing with excitement as she eyed my hair.

"We match now." I nodded to her short blonde hair.

"We do!! Welcome to the club, girlie. We have more fun." She winked.

Loud commotion echoed through the neighborhood and Jade and I turned to see a deliveryman shutting the back door to the trailer.

I pulled my sleeves over my hands, suddenly feeling out of place. "Um, is it okay that I'm here?"

"Of course!" she answered as if it was obvious, walking around her car to the trunk. "Come on in and say 'hi' to Bran. He's been saying your name a lot these days."

A smile grew on my face. "I tried calling you earlier--"

"Girlie, I haven't seen my phone for hours." She waved her hand dismissively. "It is the most peace and anxiety I have ever felt at the same time."

I let out a laugh.

She opened the trunk, retrieving a few groceries. "I know it's somewhere, I just don't know where and it's been so chaotic here that I haven't had a chance to look for it."

"I could help you bring those inside." I nodded to the bags.

"Oh, you don't have to. I'll manage to bring them all inside . . . " She looked over at the several more bags in the trunk, waiting to be unloaded. ". . . eventually," she finished quietly.
