Chapter 1 : The Path

TORD'S POV :

I stare at the tall Centaur, he looks strong, and altogether looks alot like a character from one of my video games, sweet.

"Hey, Tord, what are you doing here, and what do you want me to help you with??" Tom said.

Oh!!
I almost forgot to ask him!!

"I want you to help me to defeat the Demon King, that's my request and what I am here for." I replied, hoping to get a yes.

Tom looks perplexed, and then a face of surprise and confusion overflow.

"I, the Demon King-"
He stuttered??

"The Demon King is very dangerous, he's been killing off our livestock, killing our plants, destroying large amounts of land."

"I'm not sure what he wants, but ever since he suddenly showed up a year ago, everything turned to absolute shit. There has been alot of mysterious disappearances around the town's that he is near, and sudden sighting of demons or some weird crap showing up."

Tom explained.

Wait, that's what he's been doing.. The Demon King is destroying everything!! And I'm here, supposed to somehow slay him, and save this world, but after hearing what he has done.. I'm not so sure if I can even do this, I mean, I'm just some human who plays video games!!

I remain deep in thought.
"But, I will attempt to help you, I want that guy dead!! I'm scared of where he is going to show up next, and I don't want ANY more deaths. I will help you, I'm in."

He's in!!

"Ooh!! Great!! But first, do you have any food, I'm getting kind of hungry DD:"
I said back in a happy tone, but damn, I didn't have any breakfast before I got tossed into this mess..

Tom's POV

Tord is hungry-
Okay-
I turn my body and open my bag to see if I have anything edible for him, maybe some veggies or bread hopefully.

Tord stares at me, confused, he looks a bit like a kitten-
Crap, I don't wanna catch feelings for someone like him, almost everything he said was absolute taboo but I can't let him down.

I suddenly feel something in the bag, bread!!
I grip the bread, and pull it out, tossing it in his direction, a whole loaf, that's just a snack for me, but a meal to him I guess.

"Think fast." I said.

He catches it, stares at it, and then takes a bite, "Thank you!! I forgot to eat breakfast this morning!!" He replied happily.
Crap, he's kind of cute-
A Centaur, falling for a human, and I barely just met him 30 minutes ago-

Tord suddenly rises up from his sitting position, and walks over to me, damn he's short, like, really short-
"Uh, Tom, do you know any places where I can sleep, I mean, I just suddenly woke up here, and I'm not quite sure about this whole hybrid and Demon King thing, so uh, can you explain to me somewhere?? I wanna know more about this world." Tord responds, staring at me, hopefully.

Crap, I don't want anyone to see him, since he's a human, he is REALLY valuable, and someone might take him and sell him for hundreds of thousands of gold DD:

I'm not quite sure on how to respond to this, there is almost no place where a human can safely live in this world, most of the civilizations here are usually only one species, like the anthro wolf//human hybrids. They will NOT allow any other species around their home, otherwise they might attack.

Wait, I could bring him to my little house, yeah, it's kind of out in the open, but where I live each house is at least 40 meters apart from eachother, so it should be easy to hide him, and he also has a long tail, which might trick my clan mates into believing he's a brand new hybrid who just evolved. Perfect plan!!

"Hey, Tord, I could bring you to my clan after I'm done my work, you can rest there and we could form a plan to get this whole adventure going. If we get caught, I'll just say your someone I've captured and is keeping as a pet." I exclaimed, I feel so smart ;))

Tord's face lit up, and he then ran towards me, he leaped at me before holding onto my torso, my face flushed red as I realized he just hugged me, I, I really do have feelings for a human I just met less than an hour ago-

He held on, my face still feeling really warm, and then he abruptly let go, and landed on his feet with a loud thud.

"Uh, Tom, thank you!! But uh, when are we leaving??" Tord spoke, I then suddenly remembered why I was on this path!! Shit!!

I'm gonna be late for my job!!!
"Tord!! I just remembered I'm supposed to do some work for my workplace!! Okay uh, you can mount me on my back and then we can get moving, I'll drop you off around the site where I am, and after that we'll go to my campsite-" I responded, in a rushed tone of voice.

Tord looked a bit confused, and then he gasped, "Wait!! I can ride a horse :00 Awesome!!" He exclaimed in a happy tone, he's honestly way to cute-

I lowered my body to my knees, letting him climb onto my back, I've never let someone ride me before, so this will be a whole new experience.

He secured himself by tying his belt around my waist, I blushed again after feeling his hands wrapped lightly around my waist.
I never knew I would fall for someone like him, this is kind of embarrassing..

Tord did a little cough and then spoke "Okay, Tom, do you have any experience letting someone ride you?? I'm curious."

I turned my neck and head to face him, and responded with "No- No experience at all, this will be different for me, and I will try to not drop you, okay?"
He had this look on his face, and then exclaimed "Ooh!! So I'm gonna be your first rider :00 That's awesome!! My first time riding a mythical creature!!" Wait, what's a mythical creature?? "Tom, and I will try not to kick or pull to tight on your waist, okay??"

I wanted to ask him was a mythical creature was, but we didn't have alot of time, I clicked my tongue, so he can know I'm gonna start moving, I felt his hands wrap around my waist, holding the belt and he leaned onto my back. My face was already a bit flushed, but omg..

I shaked my head to try to snap out of it and then I turned my whole body back towards the center of the path.
Then I started galloping slowly, and I felt him squeeze tighter, I attempt to not let this distract me, but I keep a steady pace so he can get used to it.

After a little bit I felt that he was getting more comfortable, so I told him "Okay, hold on a bit tighter, I'm gonna be going faster." He held onto me tighter, and I started galloping towards a more faster pace, trying to get to my workplace, I hope my clients won't notice my flushed red face and the smaller guy on my back, riding me.

After a little bit of this, I start to see the workplace in sight :DD

"Hey!! Tord!! We are getting closer to the workplace!! I'll drop you off around my section, and you try to stay hidden in the greenery around, I don't want you to get caught, okay?" He shifted a bit, and responded "Ooh, okay, pretty simple directions. But uh, do you have any idea on when you can get off your shift so we can go to your campsite??" I slowed a little, "Not exactly, but it should take around an hour or so, hopefully, that isn't to long of a wait is it??" "Nope, that's actually really short!!"

I smiled, and then I noticed the gates of the workplace, I rest Tord inside of the greenery, and I tell him to follow me outside of the gates, I'll show him where he can slip through and hide.

I hope you all liked this chapter!! It took a bit of a while to finish, and yes, I don't really ship TomTord as much, but I will be hinting a bit at the ship in this AU!!

Basically Tom is gonna have a major crush on Tord, and Tord is oblivious to this.
