IT WAS A LITTLE BEFORE SIX-THIRTY on a Friday night in November; one of those chilly dark nights where you could see the rays of orange peak across the sky right before it went black. The luminescence of the northern lights shined green, pink and blue above the city as one of VUS' onyx blimps circled the area, shining up and down the blocks of Timefields. Magenta's week started off bad. She was behind on a few of her bills and she had just finished a domestic abuse case that involved a mother and didn't end so well. To top it off her younger sister Maroon had just fell off the wagon and started back up on her daily drinking.
"You've got to be Fucking kidding me." She whispered.
She ran her hand through her hair and sighed as her eyes focused on the case file sitting in front of her. Earlier that morning she was assigned to a case by Lieutenant Knox. One of which a father murdered his five year old son with a hewing axe after finding out about his virtue.
"Jesus." She covered her mouth after taking a glimpse at the pictures in the folder.
"Can you believe that the fucking cunt is saying that he was sleep walking when it all went down?" Knox asked from the doorway. "Virtue or not don't kill the kid; let VUS have at the freak, they might kill em but at least it wouldn't be on his hands."
Knox was a fat sixty year old Italian guy that still thought that he was young and hot. He lived off of way too many viagra pills and damn near tried to hit on every vagina that walked into the door no matter if it was criminal or not. He got the position of Lieutenant a few years back when his partner died. Apparently Captain Eichmann thought that he was capable of being in charge.
"I'm busy," Magenta told him. "Is there something you need?"
Her eyes wandered to the left of her as she felt the touch of his meaty hand on her shoulder.
"We're gonna need you to stay back tonight to let the workers in," Knox said. "The wife wants to spend time with little Knox down there so I can't do it; but that's fine right?" He asked.
"Not really I have to—"
You're a doll, Feels." He said and left the room.
"Fucking fat cannoli loving prick." She said as she glared at the photo hanging on the wall of him."Woah language" Alex laughed and took a seat.
"You have no clue how much I hate that man." Magenta smiled and said.
