I found, what I was looking for

A love that's meant for me

A heart that's mine completely

This was what Christmas was supposed to be about: curled up on the sofa watching crap festive specials with your loved ones after a huge dinner where you ate until you could physically no longer hold up your fork to your mouth. Matthew groaned from beside you; he was stuffed to the gunnels.

"You alright?" You asked.

He nodded. "I'm just so full."

"Aww babe." You cuddled into him, using your hand that wasn't tucked into his side to rub his stomach even though you could barely move yourself. "Better?"

He gave you a feeble grin. "Much." He wriggled the arm that was wrapped around you a little before resting his hand on your hip, stroking the exposed skin of your hip from where your t-shirt had ridden up due to your current position. This was how you usually spent your free time together; either just chilling out or singing together as he tried to play along on the piano.

Your parents had arrived the morning of Christmas Eve and his the night before. On Christmas Day everyone had woken up at around nine in the morning – even Matthew who loved to have a lay in and see how long he could sleep for had been up five minutes before you. Despite you both being in your thirties now and Christmas being that little bit less magical, it was still an excitable time as it was the first one you were spending together. Once everyone was fully awake and loaded up on coffee, the Buck's Fizz had been passed around along with the presents. Matthew had well and truly spoiled you this year even though you both agreed to a significantly smaller budget to accommodate the fact that not everyone *cough* you *cough* had a lot of money. Even so, he had bought you a really nice earring and necklace set along with some new clothes, make up and perfume. You had told him off for spending so much on you but he had just laughed and kissed you telling you that you were more than worth it.

The day had been spent with both sets of your parents in the fairly large flat that you shared. Your mum had told Matthew and his parents some pretty embarrassing stories and shown them some pictures of you from your childhood and his parents had done the same. You both had ended up rather red faced but had brushed it off when you realised that neither of you particularly cared and that you found it rather cute.

You had then cooked dinner with your mum and his, and he had spent most of the day watching tv with your dad and his, frequently coming into the kitchen to "steal a kiss" but you all knew that he was only after one thing; food. You had sent him back to the living room with beers for the three males and tray full of snacks in order to hold him off from snacking at the items you were preparing for the main meal otherwise there would've been none left for anyone else.

Yes; this is what Christmas should be like – well minus the embarrassing pictures and stories.
