Hi all!

Merry Christmas! We've reached the end of this book BUT I think I have left a really good story for last. I hope you've enjoyed this book. I really enjoyed modifying my stories to include Matthew.

You're here where you should be

Snow is falling as the carolers sing

It just wasn't the same

Alone on Christmas day

You looked over at your boyfriend Matthew who was sat on the floor next to your tree covered in discarded wrapping paper and bits of tinsel after a play fight with his nephews. It was Christmas day and instead of battling it out to see whose parents' house you would go to, you had decided to host the festivities at your shared home. Your mothers were chatting in the kitchen over how lovely all the decorations and lights were, the males in your family (minus Matthew) were watching something on the tv on the other side of the lounge as your nieces and nephews ran around. Everything was shaping up a brilliant end to a rather glorious year.

Later on, Matthew's sister and your mother were huddled around you at a card table that you were serving drinks from, cooing over just how starry eyed you were over having him home for the holidays.

"Well, you know what it's like; it's just so nice to have him home – especially for Christmas. I was trying to convince him that we should just go to your mom's because he's never home but he insisted on everyone coming here so that I could see my parents too."

"Isn't he such a sweetheart?" Laura was right; he was.

You nodded, a smile creeping over your face. "He's amazing."

Marilyn, Matthew's mum, walked over to where you were sat, wrapping her arms around your neck from behind.

"Thank you for today. It's lovely to have our Matthew back where he belongs."

You turned your neck to grin up at her, squeezing her hands. "You don't have to thank me; it was his idea to have us all together."

"Y/N actually suggested that they go to yours for Christmas but Matt wanted her parents to be here as well so he suggested having it here. Isn't that just the sweetest?" added Laura.

Marilyn's eyes teared up. "You did?"

"Yeah." You squeezed her hand again. "I knew how much you missed him so I was trying really hard to get him to come back earlier but he insisted that everyone come here because he didn't want me to feel alone without my family."

Your mum, carrying a tray of clean glasses, walked over to your table and set them down. "It's so nice to have everyone together."

"You can thank Matt for that." You told her as you went on to explain how the day came about.

"That's not the only reason why I wanted everyone together though."

You looked up to see Matthew standing next to his mum. He had managed to creep over undetected. You furrowed your brow at him.

He scrunched up his nose as he grinned widely at you. He took your hand and took out a small, black box.

You suddenly realised what he was up to as he lowered himself down onto one knee. The women around you gasped and squealed alerting the men and children that something special was happening. Everyone stopped what they were doing and gathered around you but you hardly noticed. You only had eyes for one guy.

"Matt..."

"Baby." He smiled up at you from the ground. "I have one more present for you."

You were pretty stunned and amazed. He let go of your hand only briefly to lift up the lid of the box. Your hands flew up to your mouth in shock.

"Y/N we've been together for three years now and if last Christmas taught me anything, it was that I never want you to be alone again during the holidays. If I go somewhere then I want you to be right there beside me. So what do you say? Will you marry me?"

You nodded your head. Tears had started streaming down your face. Everyone cheered and clapped as he slid the single diamond stunned band on your ring finger. He stood up and you launched yourself at him, your arms wrapping tightly around his neck. This was definitely your best year by far.
